I now believe there is a real suppression of some news items

I suspect that Bob's mother might have been, shall we say, 'overly familiar' with her brother.
Is Bob from Sheppey? :D

I think Bob McDonald is from the US

Luckily, it's completely optional. You can always switch it off if you don't want targeted advertising.
It is really useful though. I saw a programme on the TV about how a prototype shopping centre was using people's wifi pings to track them as they used the centre. They were able to analyse shoppers movements, time spent in various places etc and used the data to improve the centre's design and layout, offer relevant promotions etc. Very clever stuff.
And only useful for those that run the store and their profits, I can't see any advantage to shoppers, yes they are maybe offereing promotions, but they are always advertised in store / on TV etc

'They' are the Lizard People who control The Illuminati and The Masons.
I thought they were one and the same?

Earth is not flat (y)

WHAT!? now I am really starting to get annoyed :(

I think there's a general misunderstanding around the data that flows from Google and the likes from your phone though, yes, Google collect a shed load of data, keywords from your emails, location, gender, age, etc. And they use that to serve target adverts to you, so the Morrison's example above, Morrison's probably never got any of your location data, but they'll have a rule with Google to serve adverts to people who've been within x miles of a store.

Same with emails, they might all be stored somewhere so in theory someone could read them. But "Big Brother" doesn't sit and read every single email that gets sent. Although, if they did, that would be one way to guarantee 100% employment figures...

But it's the price we pay for "free" things. If you're not paying for the product, then you are the product.

Not necessarily. I might not watch much TV and could be walking past a store. If it pinged me some offers based on my previous shopping habits then that would be very useful. Completely optional too of course. (y)

I suspect that it was google selling data, rather than Morrison's captureing it themselves ...
Norty Google!

I don't even know if I have that option TBH. I guess that's one of them thaar eyephones?

This is going to sound very vague but about 10 years ago I was on my way to work at around 4:30am when a story came on the news that made me take notice, no idea what it was now , it wasn't mentioned again all day on any bulletin , I remember thinking at the time it was really strange, my dad used to say he found out more about what was happening in the UK on euro news than he ever did on anything transmitted here

Yes one of those evil jesusphones that are locked down and you can't do anything with :) except ofcourse opting out of being tracked and all that ...

Thought as much, but surely its the Devils work?
Tracking our souls, waiting to snatch them :(

Seems the camera's aren't too shabby either
A classic case of don't believe everything, anything?!, you read on the Internet. A full actual two days of usage battery life is useful as well.

What about the camera being good, or the soul snatching?

There are regularly news stories that make the news at the start of the Today programme, but by 8am have disappeared from the BBC altogether.

The only way to get a balanced view of the news is to take it from multiple sources.

You mean you have never seen Ghost? tut tut, Everyone knows you only go one of two ways (y)

Shut your eyes when the potters wheel scene comes on though......It will make you blind;)

Didnt see much about the doctor protest outside downing St or scramping of free school meals last week on the BBC.

Have they actually been scrapped now? We've heard nowt and our little one currently gets them. Last I read, they'd backed down over that?

No, they haven't.

That was covered by BBC, ITV, Sky, and just about every media outlet, online, on television, radio and in print. You clearly weren't looking very hard!

scramping of free school meals last week on the BBC.
Quite a discussion yesterday on Radio 4 about the funding of hot school meals in primary schools, looking at how small/remote schools will struggle without the extra support they've had the last two years. Also discussing the report that's recommended that schools serving less than 100 meals/day should continue to receive additional funding, perhaps by altering the distribution of the budget as very large schools are probably in surplus with the current arrangements.

and it now appears suppression of the selfie thread .:pint::exit:

It reminds me of a news story from a couple of years ago...

A small boat with about 10 men went down, they were in some way working for an oil company. A rescue ship was despatched, their job was really recovery, as it took about 20 hours to get there and nobody had managed to get away.

Divers went down and the bodies were recovered, but by very good luck one man survived, he was the cook and his name is Harrison, he was in an air bubble.

I heard about this, almost live, because one of the rescuers posted about it on another forum that I belong to, but there was absolutely nothing on the news for about 3 weeks, then a small mention.
Why? Probably because all the people who lost their lives, plus the survivor, were both poor and black. In other words, the news wasn't considered important enough, it wasn't supressesed.

Go back another 100 years or so and the Titanic went down, a lot of rich people were on board and people are STILL talking about it. Just 3 years earlier there was a collision between the RMS Republic and another ship, SS Florida. 4000 people were saved, and all due to the fact that they had maritime radio, one of the very first ships to have it and the first ever successful use of radio by a ship in distress. But, there were no rich people on board... Everyone knows about the Titanic, how many people know about the Republic or the Florida?

You mean you have never seen Ghost?
Funny that, I do paranormal investigations in my spare time, only one place I / we ever went, and we couldn't put the "activity" down to natural causes.

Itching to get back, but permission is hard to come by as its "Crown" property

Hook out? :)

If I understand you correctly, absolutely :)

"To fish by trailing a baited line along behind a boat."

I will never look at your posts in the same way now the genie is out of the bottle. :)

It passes a boring Friday :)

But as above tis all true, most "things" are caused by Electro-magnetic fields, such as heavy duty power cables running underground and causing minor disturbances
( and I resisted the the temptation to say "in the force" Ooops, no I didn't :D )
such a metal objects apparently moving on their own, and or severe headaches, dizzyness etc in certain area's.
And of course the human mind is a powerful thing in its own right, imaginations then run riot ....
Its actually fascinating :)

Whatever floats your boat. :)

A trolling mod - I've seen it all now!

But look how long it kept that thread running for though ;)

Is that important? I don't understand.

Isn't it better in the long run to just have proper discussions, rather than pretend ones?

Not really, but conversely you didn't have to keep replying that would have killed it off just as quick as me not posting.

I enjoyed replying. I thought we were having a reasonable discussion.

Indeed we were, it was interesting getting your point of view, as to whether or not I agreed with it was another matter entirely :)

Yes, but my point is, why would I have ended the discussion (as you just suggested) when I thought it was genuine?

Are you two going to compete for the last word in this thread all week? :D
