Not that far from where I live and I dont remember it making the local news let alone the national news. Something more at play here! suppression plain and simple. I wonder who makes the call and to who to get things burried?

No Malice of forethought here just a news article I did not see on national news feeds....and find it odd. OK (y)
 
IIRC there was something similar around Birmingham that came to light, some months ago, and some considerable time after the fact.

It made Look North 2 nights running, one night quite detailed report the other just touching on it.

Didn't see it on nationals though probably should have been.
 
Judges often impose gag orders until after a trial concludes.
It's nothing new.

I saw it on the BBC news site.
It was in the top 10 for a while.

How is that suppression or am I missing something?

Unfortunately that is often the case, and then when there is other news it will go down the pecking order very quickly...

Reading through it again it makes me really truly sad. Pathetic swines that do this, and unfortunately it happens too often. Some serious cultural and religious issues there, but best not talked about ....

Me too, I saw it on the front page of the beeb website, no suppression at all.

I wouldn't say suppression. I would say lack of being shouted from the rooftops because it probably wouldn't help publications sell as well as other stories would/did.

What more do you want the BBC to do?

Issue a news flash like they seem to do with all trivial news. Have it on the broadcast channels as well. This is a sad but also a good news story that a major conviction (relatively) quickly has been secured. Especially by a force that has been negatively in the news most recently. And hopefully many more will follow...

Items stay in due to feedback on clicks. It's not up to the BBC to be our conscience.
 
It was on the BBC evening news and News at Ten on thursday, I think it was? Not sure what else you expect them to do?
Think it was on Newsnight aswell, but I fell asleep to Question Time instead :)

When they have finished their sentance they should be put on a plane back to their own country. If they were born in the UK still put them on a plane with no parachute and drop them in the Atlantic.

Aye, it takes thirty years or more to get reported if it's systemic abuse by priests.
 
Naturally there are other news outlets than just the BBC :)

I didn't hear it, nor see it which I have to agree with the OP is odd for such a major case. Also wasn't discussed on the radio on LBC either which it normally does....

There's a lot of paranoia around the supposed under-reporting of brown criminals in the news.

plenty of news gets suppressed every day of the week ,its keeps the plebs from rising up against the injustices of government ,its been a slow insiduous advance but it has happened ,lets start ban a lot of union activity, ban smoking in public places leading to lots of pubs shutting down ,tax beer and spirits to the hilt same effect but it has also helped to shut down the majority of working mens clubs .i.e meeting places ,now they have the working classes at home control the t.v news channels and internet to feed them only news that the government want you to know ,.the media is controlled there is no doubt of that .
can you really trust this lot that run our country anymore we have a pig shagging p.m and a smack/coke head for chancellor the rest are either on the expenses fiddle or loving there neighbour as long as there the same sex .the general public is fined for silly misdemeanours under the guise of enviroment .is i right a woman gets fined for feeding birds in her own garden ,is one instance i can think of ,we are virtually under 24 hour surveillance no matter what we are doing .even the children have been indoctrinated in school and the new generation of between 18 to 40 year olds have a totally different viewpoint to us few that can remember real freedom that our mums and dads fought for in ww2 .and no one says or reads a dicky bird about it apart from on the likes of these forums .and then the indoctrinated ones usually come across with some way of putting it down .

Jeff, I suspect the Germans wouldn't tolerate anything pro-Nazi. It's a comedy show, there's no need to bring the war dead into it.

for freedom of speech and against oppression.

That is being slowly eroded away, with camera's everywhere, and being told by politicians, making legislation at every oppertunity, "its because its good for you"
If you are happy to be tagged and logged via you mobile phone and other electronic devices at every turn, then that's cool.

Yes I know the age old argument, if you are doing nothing wrong it doesn't matter, unfortunately that seems to fall down with the amount of crimes that continues, what ever they maybe.
Can't you see that we'll end up like the Astronauts on the space station shortly? ( hopefully not in my life time) being told when to sleep, when to eat, what to do and when.
