I hate decorating

So why put patterened paper up to paint over it? Surely it would have been much easier to slap about 4 coats of paint over the blue?

The state of the walls. They really aren't as smooth as they should be ;)

It's paintable wallpaper though :)

How are you fixed for painting my doors :D

I have doors of my own I need to paint but just cannot be ar*ed at the minute. Doors aren't as easy as walls ;)

Jeese that blue is bloody horible!!!

You want to try laminate flooring, the hall needed doing, the laminate costs £25 a metre, it's only 6 sq metres so £150, got someone out to quote inc fitting £500

sod that i'll do it, took me 2 days and my knees and back were killing me , 1/2 way through I was thinking £350 fitting doesn't sound so expensive now.

Looks good now i've finished it though

You want to try laminate flooring...

In the flat we moved from last year, we had it in the big living room, the hallway, and our bedroom.

I took it up, and came to the new house, where we put it in :

The living room
The hallway downstairs
Our bedroom
Our daughters bedroom
Our sons bedroom

So yup, I've 'tried' laminate flooring :p

The living room is looking a bit tatty now, I think I could do with getting it scrubbed and polished, no idea where to start though.

Hehe thats a good point.

There are still some painted initials at the top of the stairs from previous occupants, so I think it's high time we got it done :D

6 pieces up! and the 7th is on its way :D

Marcel, from that photo you seem to have rather a lot of tools laying about just to stick a few bits of paper to the wall. You did read the instructions first, didnt you?

lol lets hope he hasnt trapped anyone behind the paper or a door lol, and lets hope he has plumb bobed it :P
and got the same batch of paper :P

Yup, I'm using a plumb bomb, nobody is trapped, everyone is accounted for (including the cat). No strange lumps :p

Was too bright anyway. Stops people looking in, and it saves me having to put some blinds up.

I still hate decorating. Wife's gone to bed to leave me to it....Keep on keeping on.

Aaaand I'm finished for the night. Got halfway to the front door, and up the stairs on one side (mostly)
Gonna finish it tomorrow :D

You moved house and took the laminate flooring with you :D.
Out of curiosity Marcel, normally when selling a property the floor coverings are included in the sale, if you sold the flat were the buyers ok with that?.
I have never heard of anyone lifting and relaying laminate before.

Hell yeah, it cost us alot of money :p And it was *just* the right size to put in the new living room.
The laminate is the easy lay stuff designed to come back up.

It wasn't a sale either, it was rented, and it was our laminate :D We did replace all the crappy interior doors with nice ones, and decided to leave them. 12 months later, we see a skip outside and the new tenant is replacing all the doors herself. :(

Easiest way to decorating

Paint pot in the middle of the room

A thing that goes back and produces some air

Walk out the door

Cover you ears

And scrunch your face up like everyone does when they are waiting for a loud noise

Remember to be safe though :D

Hi Marcel hows it going mate? Ive just finished scrapping the walls Im well fed up of this already Going to load the car and take all the crap to the tip now Think I might call for a quick pint on the way back
Bob

LOL I'll see you there. I've got to get cracking on it again today...but I can't be bothered :p

LOL We could just swap houses? :D

Not fallen into the paste bucket, although I've looked it and often wondered how long it would be before the pastey goo takes a hold of my lungs and takes me away from this decorating hell :D
(Back to wallpapering again tonight)

I am painting my walls when i get my own place :D

Sod pappering them, two reasons why. I am to short to reach the top of the wall so the paper will be all hanging down, and 2: because i just couldn't be botherd standing up on a ladder xD I'll get vertigo

Marcel, Honey!!!!! If I lived closer I would help you.....

 I LOVE DECORATING!

I even praise the rabbits when they pull the paper off the walls, They help! how cute! :D

In Scotland we put up wall paper with drawing pins. That way if we move house its no bother to take down & put up in the new place:thumbs:
