Got some money for christmas, got some money in the bank and get an EMA bonus soon so I am going to get me a 360 :D:D Iknow I should be saving up for a car anda 100-400 but sod it. I love my computer games.

Going to sell the PS2 as well :( Well hopfully make me about £60 :)

Was meant to get one for Chrsitmas but got a Lens instead :)

Xbox is great, get online too.

I would recommend at least one Call of Duty, Gears of War, Bioshock, GTA4.....

A good spread of driving games there Matt, I enjoyed every one of them. RacePRO isn't out until Jan/Feb sometime but it really does look good.

i would rather save for the lens you want :lol:

prefer the PS3 tbh but i guess anything to remove you from the PC for a while cant be bad :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
My sisters kids have been chasing her for an X Box for ages.

She wrapped up an egg box for them and pretended she`d misheard them!
 
You could pick up most of those games 2nd hand for very little money indeed. ;)

Forza 2 is fantastic. It's great online too because the game dynamics put off trouble makers trying to crash into you deliberately. Let me know when you're online with it and I'll teach you a few things on the track ;)

Dead Space and Fallout 3 are must-haves though.
 
Yeah, I really want XBOX live so when i am up and running I will let ya know!!! I want to get me driving games first then I will expand a bit :)

forza is the nuts as well only play that really
 
Forza2 is great, I loved PGR4 too (totally different type of driving game really). Not played the others, but sounds like that wheel will be getting some use!!!

Matt , have a look here, 13 months of gold membership for £29.99. I heard about him a few months ago, did some checks & it appears to be legit so bought one :)
 
I bought my last Xbox Gold membership off ebay for less than £25 for 13 months -a bargain.

Matt, you can Forza for about £7, 2nd hand now & PGR4 is definitely worth buying. COD 4 has been mentioned, and is a must, as is GOW 1 coz you can get that cheap now too.

If I've still got my copy of DIRT (I can't remember whether or not I've traded it in, I will check later) you can have it, as I finished it on single player, and it's pants online! :)

Oh,and don't forget the HD telly to show off the Xbox at it's very best!! :D

Forza as mentioned is really good, Moto GP 08 is good as well. I'm more of a FPS gamers with CoD and GoW but from time to time you just can't beat Forza 2.
 
Did your verbal battering on Piston Heads not change your mind about this Matt? Especially when you have made it clear you're deciding to buy this instead of putting the money towards the lens, which you would use for your school work.

I know it's not really any of my business, but it has irked me a bit Matt :(

Get a PS3, it wont melt, the games are as good and getting better, value for money wise its better, (wireless internet, wireless controllers, HDD come with it)FREE online gaming that is perfectly good, Resistance 2, CoD5, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo, Grid and F1 all on ps3, so whats the problem?????

Not wanting to get into an argument here but Ive had a 360 from about 6 months before the PS3 came out got the PS3 on launch week and its probably been the biggest dissapointment I've ever spent money on, the games selection is pretty poor even now. GT5 Prologue is Gorgeous to look at but boring as hell to play not a patch on Forza 2, online is crap compared to live yes I know its free but you can tell why, things like being able to talk to your friends when your both playing different games cant be done on PS3, cross game invites to play online etc. everything is just so much more integrated, online on the PS3 feels like it was tacked on on the 360 it was all incorporated from the beginning.

As for being better value for money hmm maybe if your after a Blu Ray Player too but as a games machine not at all.

You can pick up a 360 Premium 60gb with 3 games and an extra controller for round £199 at HMV, a PS3 with 3 games is 93 quid more and that only includes 1 controller, you will also need a bluetooth headset for online plus an HD cable if you get an HDTV which are bother extras that you get with the 360. Yes you get wifi on the PS3 and its an extra on the 360 but there are cheapish ways to add wifi to the 360 with ethernet to wifi bridges should you really need to.

Theres a far greater range of pre owned 360 games available a lot of which haven't been available on the PS3 or came out a lot later so are more expensive Bioshock comes to mind.

Most of the problems with the 360 overheating have been solved now I bought my sister and brother in law one for christmas and its far quieter and cooler running that my 18 month old Elite which has never given me any problems.

If it wasn't for Blu Ray my PS3 would have been sold long ago as it rarely gets turned on.

In short Matt get the 360 have some fun your still young, your lens will come theres plenty of time.

Just my opinion btw :)

the games on ps3 are very good now, a very good selection..

Ok if you dont want Bluray it might not be THAT good value, but the ps3 will take any bluetooth headset, im sure that a lot of the stuff that is availble on the Live account will be along on ps3, you have XMB access in game now, so it wont be long..

The only thing stopping me buying a 360 is the reliability, once that is really nailed then i will dip in..

My sons 360 has this evening given up the ghost, just out of the years warranty too. They only got it last xmas.

I suppose it's personal preferance but so far Im still dissapointed with the games/online on PS3 the only stuff I buy for it are Sony exclusives and other than Little Big Planet and maybe MGS 4 I think they have been distinctly average.

Seems like Sony are playing catch up with stuff that should have been implemented from the start, pretty much the same as Blu Ray vs HD DVD took them close to 2 years for them to implement web content etc. which also caused a lot of people to need to buy new players to use it. which was included on HD DVD from day one. I know Blu Ray won out in the end and that was mainly because of PS3 users but Sony seem to be getting into a habit of releasing stuff lacking features that should have been there from the beginning and relying on the brand to get customers to buy them.

It doesn't matter , phone up Mr Microsoft & give them the serial number and they should arrange to have it picked up & sorted :)
