Good for you. Personally I am never happier camera wise than when I have a manual focus Nikon in my hand. They way they work & handle they seem to have a soul that plastic DSLR's & even my AF Nikon's lack. Be warned, Nikon manual focus cameras can become addictive. Explains why I have 6 of them :)

The FG was my first proper Nikon (after a Nikkormat) which my father gave me in 1980. I still have it and it still works perfectly.

It was quite advanced in its time with programme mode and TTL flash control.

Mine is kept company with an FE2, a couple of Fs, an F601 (and a D3200) now.

Spot on.. my (other) new toy this week: Black FG & MD-E winder..

OOOOoooOOOoooooOOooooHHHHhhhhh !

nice

I've just ordered a new batch of film from 7 day shop

Yay !

I have just been visited by Mr Postman who brought me a nice 28-85 zoom Nikkor to put on my new FE2.

All of my other Nikkor lenses are pre AI.

Zoom and Manual Focus my Brain would POP

Well if we are getting all moist about our MF Nikons - here is me F2 with DA-1 Sports Finder. A bloody big viewfinder, that..

Love the big sports finder and the F2 looks like it has a tale to tell, very nice, very envious!

Have an EM that belonged to my parents at home, along with a quite nice Tamron 70-200. Sadly still in a box in the UK! I will be rescuing it next time I'm home.

Addictive as I said in my earlier post. I have just surrendered to an F2 Photomic from ebay to add to my manual focus Nikon collection. It joins an F with an eye level finder, two F3's, an FA, an FE2 & an FM2. Am looking forward to having a use at last for the prongs on my lenses :)

Wow I didnt realise this thread would go so mucky, keep em coming.
I'm on the lookout for a nice minty FG now for a spare and a few more lens's to add, hope to get a 28mm Series E next. anyone got one doing nowt

Stop it....I can't take / afford anymore :D!...you've got me eying up non AI 35mm lenses now to marry up with the Ftn that's in the post.

I have a load of Nikon or Nikon fit lenses already but looks are everything aren't they? :D

Just brought a FG this morning! will have have to get some MF lenses, really want a 35mm 2.5 e series!

I'm after something similar ideally a 28mm

Well I suppose you can't go wrong with a Nikon 28mm, but don't exclude all the cheaper 28mms around Why? well I own fifteen, and stopped down it's difficult to see the difference in results from most of them. But in saying that, if the difference between 3rd party lenses and Nikon, Canon etc lenses is just say £20 (or whatever you think reasonable) then go for the well known camera maker's gear.

Any suggestions I am looking for one but they are not 10 a penny as they say?

I think it looks like the going rate is about £50 maybe a bit more for the Nikon one.

If you can pick one of these up (exactly as shown) for about £15-£20 in Nikon mount, you would be happy with the results, but if the price went to £30 ? I'd rather pay £20 more for a Nikon.

The close focus is useful as well
