Just joined and thought I should start here :)

I am hobby photographer from the States. I am currently a full time paramedic.

My husband and I also used to teach SCUBA for a local dive shop (thats where we met) and we really liked taking underwater shots. We used to use a 35mm slide film camera, but have recently upgraded to a very modest digital setup.

I am currently doing none of the above. Stuck at home on bedrest, awaiting the arrival of our 3rd child, and filling my time with all kinds of photography books, webinars, forums and such.

I never really wanted to be a professional photographer, but I do enjoy working with them. I volunteer as a Digital Retouch Artist for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, infant bereavement photographers. I have retouched hundreds of babies for grieving families and I have seen work from every kind of photographer.

Since I already know how to change the pixels on my screen, I thought, with all this time off, I should learn how they change those pixels before they get to my screen :)

Hi and welcome to TP

This is a largely based UK forum, but I am sure there's loads on here for you! I hope that you 'get' the british sense of humour and spelling!!! :)

Look forward to seeing you around

:welcome:

a varied career and all the best for your new baby-to-be..!

spent 20 years up in Vancouver Canada. and saw a lot of the western States, but never over your way

used to scuba too, before the asthma, hope you can post some images here .!

wow..............

just had a look at "NILMDTS" and read some of the stories

I was married for 12 years - my wife was quite ill and we never had children - seeing the love and devotion of these bereaved parents actually brought a tear to these tired old eyes

wonderful work you must do....

I am a member of several US forums, but this one is WAY more active than the other ones. I have seen lots of good stuff so far. And... I am working on the humour and spelling :)

I hope to put some up soon, but they are by no means professional :)

NILMDTS volunteers are growing in numbers internationally. I noticed that our October volunteer of the month was in Great Britain.

Welcome to the madhouse! Nice to see members from across the pond join in.
My sister had a full term still born many years ago. A dreadful time for all concerned. Beautiful little girl. There wasn't a lot of support around then. It's good to see that things have improved. Huge respect for all involved in helping.

Welcome to TP.

Great to have more of our friends from North America on board. First spell I spent over your side was in Kansis City, Missouri around thirty five years ago. Had a great time and the people were terrific, even if they didn't know how to make tea or beer.

Looking forward to seeing some of your pics. I'm new here too and I felt really nervous about posting some of my stuff but the members have been great in helping me with (ussually) constructive criticism :D

David
