After being bought my first slr (canon eos 450d) as a wonderful birthday present by my girlfriend .....i have had a brilliant last three weeks experimenting!!! Until tonight..... the camera was there, set up on the tripod, photographing christmas lights in the dark, i turned my back for seconds to turn back round and see the tripod on the floor with my poor slr looking beaten.
Everything seems to be working perfectly, except it is not recognising a memory card in the camera, it keeps displaying 'no memory card' even though one is in. The red light in the bottom right does not come on when it normally would if it was 'busy'. The point of impact was the right hand side and although the casing is not cracked, it has slightly moved offline.
If anyone has any advice or idea how much the repair will cost i would be very greatful. I plan to ring the shop we bought it from in the morning as they have always been very helpful.
P.S. I'm gutted
