weekly HelenC's 52 for 22 - Week 52: Showcase. Critique welcome

Ah, the 'mist shot'. Very well taken. Was it one you've had in mind waiting for the right weather?
(ps. I've added the tech, even though you've not mentioned it in the main thread).

That's a great moody morning shot Helen. Perfect reflection and the crop suits it well.
Well spotted. Certainly captured the feeling of the place.
Nice picture Helen, the water is so calm, perfect reflection, I rotated it 180 degrees and for me it looks even better :)
Looks like you've captured last week's, this week's and the tech.

Really nice moody image.
That’s a lovely capture Helen. Great composition.
A really nice contemplative image Helen ... the background trees and pond weed do however impact on the shot, cloned out I think it would much improve the image.
Thanks for the good comment @Chevin. I see what you mean but I am a bit of a purist and tend not to remove of change anything unless absolutely necessary. It has to be a cracking image to see me spending time on the processing ;)
I think the tree could be darker just a tad, to separate it from the background a wee bit more, but apart from that a really nice image.

Pete
Thanks @seaodyssey. I saw the same and did try to up the blacks on the tree slightly but then lost the fogginess...

Really nice calm shot Helen.

Thanks @LC2 on both counts. I went out for sunrise on the coast which didn't happen and bumped into the mist on the way home :)
A lovely atmosphere to this Helen and a nice reflection.

Thanks for commenting folks. As ever, much appreciated.

This week has run away with me... too much concentration on the garden but I did get out to the coast on Sunday. As we are surrounded by trees here I thought I would take a different angle... this was once a-tree...

Nice post :D

And good mono too!

Lovely mono shot Helen. I like the textures of the wood and foliage and the use of dof

I laughed when I saw this Helen, great idea. I agree with the others, your use of depth of field and the b&w processing have both worked to create a very strong image.

B/W suits this one Helen. Well composed as usual.

Yes was once a tree, great "post" for the theme :)
It suits the mono treatment which picks out the texture nicely.
I like that Helen, works well for me esp in B&W

I like the dreamy look.
Again good B/W processing that suits the image.

Really like that Helen. I’m developing a bit of a liking for the minimal shots. Great take on the theme also.

That a cool shot!

Lovely shot. Very nicely done.
Very nice, and well framed.
That's really lovely Helen and an unusual 'hole' shot.
That's fantastic.
That's a cool shot. I thought it was some form of rock formation by the sea cliffs but the long exposure turns it into a 'mystery' object.

Thank you all for taking the time to drop by and comment.

That’s a super shot Helen. Consistently great images from your camera!

Fab shot!

Lovely shot! Great use of a slow shutter speed and the composition is perfect, fantastic colours too.

Not usually a fan of creamy water but that works well. Shame about the bunny but they're an unfortunate fact of (digital) life!

That's a beauty Helen. I like how the white surf frames the bottom of the image

Apologies for my disappearance over the last few weeks... holiday (non-photography), jubilee & other commitments left me very short on time. As a catch up I've tried to use images taken over the same period... albeit not great at least it's a catch up.

Week 19: Sports

This is the new addition to the sports equipment on our Millennium Green... the official opening

Week 20: Parallel

Holiday shot - I did try and get out with the camera before others were up but didn't get much in the way of sunrise. Works for the theme though..

Week 21: Metal
Another holiday shot on a very wet day - only got a couple of long exposures in before the heavens opened

That's it for not... just need to find a little treasure :)

Paralell is superb!

Nice LE for Metal - maybe a bit more light?

Not normally a fan of long exposure but I think you've got the balance right in the Metal shot, very good
