weekly HelenC's 52 for 22 - Week 52: Showcase. Critique welcome

It meets the challenge and is well composed.
I agree that the colours of the peeling paint add to the story.
Drab day here too.

Lovely picture. The small patches of colour add depth and interest. Wish my seaside walk had been as productive today.

Yep - that does the job very nicely :)

Works for me. Fits the theme and I like the colour spots.

Lovely image. It stopped me in my tracks as I scrolled down the main image page.

A nice strong pic Helen. The framing works well for the boat and the colours lift it out of the background.

Nothing wrong with that, at all. A lovely image in its own right and fits the theme well. If I had 1 criticism it would be that I may have tried to get myself a bit higher to keep the whole transom below the horizon line (but that's being really nit-picky ... sorry :) - but that's not to say that it doesn't work well as it is already, just my personal preference )

That's another wonderful shot Helen. I like it as is.

Lovely beach shot (as usual). I like the colours but mono would work too.

I like the splashes of colour too. Really nice against the muted colours, and perfect for the theme.

@FlyPhot thanks for the feedback. No need to apologise - you're right, I could have tried a few different angles. I appreciate any critique.

Thanks as ever for the kind comments folks. It's very much appreciated.

I'm going for a shot I see every day... the flat(ish) landscape and big skies of Suffolk! Yesterday was really windy and the clouds were scudding across the rape fields casting lovely shadows on the bright yellow.

Lots of flora there Helen. Honeybees go mad for it, but the honey is a bit bland.

Lovely panorama of the theme Helen. I do like how the sun highlights some areas for the field and the clouds pick out shaded areas.

Nice shot Helen, and nice to see a pano for something a little different. The rape seed fields bring such a vibrant splash of colour at this time of the year.

Nicely done Helen, that patch of sunlight just huts the right spot. The rape is just about ready to flower around here.

That is a lovely scene Helen. It suits the envelope crop. I love the way the sunlight has picked out the rape.
A beautiful image Helen.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting. The rape does look lovely but now I can't stop sniffling!

I hear the squeak of a shoehorn this week as I seem to be running out of time. I have to say these days its very UNUSUAL for me to be out and about before the sun comes up (i.e. out of the door at 4am!!) but I did manage it this week even though the sunrise didn't put it the required appearance...

Even without a full sunrise, it was worth getting up early - a lovely scene!

Oh that is a lovely shot Helen. I love the composition and the early start was worth it.

I hope you're not sniffling too badly. Tree pollen usually gets to me, but so far I've been fine.... could I finally have grown out of it??

Well composed and generally lovely Helen. Well worth the early rise.

A really nice image Helen, are windmills like this a usual occurrence where you live?

Thanks @Boots - I actually enjoyed it... I forget how nice it is to be out before the majority of the populace.

Thanks @Bebop. Glad to hear you're fine... mine started later in life so I think I'm stuck with it :(

Thanks @Peter123, much appreciated.

Thanks @Darkslinger. To be precise it's actually a wind pump. I went up to the Norfolk Broads for a workshop so there are lots of them around to control the water levels. This one is Thurne, which is one of the few still with full sail.

Definitely worth getting up for Helen and a lovely pic. Wind pumps/mill are a very unusual sight around here, especially with sails still attached.

Working windmills are pretty unusual in themselves nowadays. It's a beautiful shot, the angle, the composition, the soft tones, and that touch of pink in the sky... lovely.

Mine didn't start till I was in my 40s - I'd been swimming and I think the chlorine had stripped my nose of any protection (my theory :ROFLMAO: ). I often sneeze a lot after swimming, but that time it just didn't stop. The last few years have been bad, needing nasal spray plus loratadine and occasionally eye drops as well. I can't believe I'm not affected this year yet. I am crossing my fingers!!! Hope it's not a bad pollen year for you.

Thanks @Bebop - mine doesn't sound as bad as yours has been. Thankfully it's only seems to be early tree pollen so doesn't go on forever. Fingers crossed for you.

Thank god pharmacists for Beconase!!!

Not sure the dark bit at the bottom of the oilseed rape shot adds much to the image - I used the bottom of my screen to mask it off and prefer the resulting tighter crop.
Lots of the stuff down here - I love the smell but it does get a bit overpowering after a while!

I like the wind pump shot - despite the sun not helping out!

Thanks @Nod. You're right about the crop and getting rid of the darker area.
Great shot and a lovely composition Helen!

As ever, thanks for dropping by and for the kind comments. It is much appreciated.

Out early this morning to try and get a "proper" (!!) sunrise at Southwold - request from a customer. Not much happening there but it was very misty en route home and found a nice reflection to meet the tech criteria.

That's a great moody morning shot Helen. Perfect reflection and the crop suits it well.

Well spotted. Certainly captured the feeling of the place.

Nice picture Helen, the water is so calm, perfect reflection, I rotated it 180 degrees and for me it looks even better :)

A really nice contemplative image Helen ... the background trees and pond weed do however impact on the shot, cloned out I think it would much improve the image.

I think the tree could be darker just a tad, to separate it from the background a wee bit more, but apart from that a really nice image.
