I may be biased but yes, it's a beautiful area. I grew up in the Valleys, a town called Tredegar.

You may already know this but Abergavenny is just over an hour from Rhayader and the Elan Valley, as well as Gigrin farm, a Red Kite feeding station. Well worth it if you fancy a detour.
 
It looks like the temps are dropping rapidly overnight from tomorrow, hovering just above 0oC,
and snow predicted for Thursday, day time.

Rhayader and the Elan valley would have been of interest, although we are now home so they will have to wait for another day. If we do the return journey to see our friends there again then this may well be the route of choice.
 
Still at 9°-C here this morning cloudy but quite bright and very windy. I understand from the weather apps that we can expect a bit of a battering later on with the temperatures dropping considerably.
 
Its just about double figures here, but with the 25 mph gusting to 50 mph, it feels a lot cooler.
The rain's due sometime late afternoon and into the night.
 
Well that changed quickly, the temperature is still the same but the wind has got going even more now and it's started to rain. :(
 
The wind has finally eased here. I may be mistaken but we had a constant 20 mph or so with gust of upto 50mph for the last 3 days. It's calm now though with a wind speed of 6mph and gusts of 20. I may finally be able to carry on with my fence repairs tomorrow.

It's turned cold though, dry, currently 3°C but we're all indoors now and not planning on venturing out again tonight, it's been a long day.

It was a cold one last night, even now at 10-30am, it's 0°C. It's a beautiful day though and the winds have subsided.
 
4oC here, light cloud cover, and it feels quite pleasant without the wind.
There was a fair drop of rain over night, today looks like staying dry,
It now looks like the snow will be replaced by rain in the small hours, overnight.

Cold but dry, next to no wind, just a subtle breeze now and again. Quite a nice day but heavy looking clouds here and there. Currently 0°C.

Snow forecast for late afternoon, early evening but we rarely see if at the foot of the valley, a mile up the road might be a different story.
 
Currently 5oC, and virtually no wind.
It rained rather heavily over night and is still at it. Not that hard now, but steady.
And it seems to be set for the rest of the day, and into tomorrow.
 
I've just got in.
4.5 according to the car, drizzling, and what little wind there is, is biting, it feels like 0 or below out there!
 
Well, we have snow falling, although nothing really sticking here but just a 100 metres or so up on the hills, it's sticking and probably about an inch or so deep.

Quite windy and 0°C.
 
It's not actually that much above me, but as predicted, its still raining quite heavily.
 
Picking Mrs Nod up shortly then going out to dinner. The restaurant is only a couple of hundred yards from her work but I'm tempted to drive us down there! (10°C or so but persisting down!)
 
8°-C at 04-00 and raining steadily with no wind. It's now up to 10°-C but dry and quite bright but very windy. I understand from the weather forecast that things are going to change for the worse as the day progresses.

It was hammering down about 7am, it woke me, so yes it really was hammering down!
Its still raining, but lighter, and looks set for the day.
 
It's 3°C here but it feels bitter. Quite windy with gusts upto 45mph, from the east. Cloudy, dull and pretty meh at the moment. Dog needs walking but if it's that skaty way under feet, she won't be going far.
 
The sun is currently trying, although I'm betting it's "Arnie" rain.

Thoroughly miserable here ............... raining, that cold stuff that is almost snow. Walking the dog about an hour ago and I got brain freeze.

Windy too and 3°C.
 
The rain did come back, but its been dry for an hour or so.
It looks like its stopped for the night.

A chilly 8oC currently.
 
Our balancing lakes and flood planes are working overtime,
and there is a couple of pictures of those starship things up to their ears in water :lol:
