Heat.

Dryish today, about 10 degrees again. There was broken cloud this morning, but it's just a bit grey now. :p

It's certainly picking up here, gusting to about 50mph and looks like it could get higher before it calms down. Our reindeer out front is on its side, it's either blown over or been on the egg nog.

Blustery rain, coming down in sheets. 7 degrees though.
It was fairly windy here yesterday with 30-40mph gusts which was enough to bring down branches of the crack willow trees (30m tall) and I wondered if it's like this here what it was like for you because the storm, a named storm ..Pia..by the Danish Met Office, tracked across the top of Scotland and made its way to Norway where they had gusts of 90mph. These crack willows opposite live up to that name and when hit by strong winds some quite large branches break off. The trees are alongside the brook, opposite, and the 15m-wide grass verge infront of them is used by dog-walkers so I dragged the branches out of the way as they completely blocked the verge and one couople with their dog had to walk around them into the road.

The winds dried out the grass on our back lawn so I mowed yesterday lifting the blade up a notch so not a 'haircut' .I didn't think I'd have to do another mow before Spring. Climate change :D

9-C here at the moment and dry with a strong breeze. Apparently its going to remain dry but get very windy.

Looks dry, breezy, mildish out there - soon I'll have to venture out. :p

Update: very mild - probably 12-14 degrees and sunny.

10oC and sunny here, wind 20 mph, gusting to 30 mph.
It looks like staying dry for a change.

Wet and windy here. We had a noisy night and much the same now, although they are not huge winds. 9 degrees and pleasant temperature wise.

It's nasty out there, blustery, rainy and high gusts of wind. Not cold though, 10 degrees.

Mild but blustery. I guess over 8oC and mostly cloudy ⛅

10-C here at the moment, drizzling with rain and quite windy. Apparently we're in for a bit of a battering later on today.

I was late night shopping, last night, just before midnight, and the car said 10oC
and drizzling in the wind.

Currently it's 12oC and 25 mph winds, apparently gusting to 45 mph.
Again, its "damp in the wind"

Quite windy today, gusting to about 55mph and a steady 25mph. I'm fearing for one of our fences, I'm hoping it stays upright so that I can repair it when things calm down.

Heavy showers, which are very blustery and 8 degrees.

Drove through MK this morning to see my brother and his wife near Bedford. It was just too mild for Christmas.

I've just had a message from my cousin in Oz. ( gold coast)
It seems they are being battered by storms in some areas, hail the size of grapefruit, and floods.
20oC night temps an 35oC day time.
I think I'll stick to what we have here (y)

Yes, I saw a report about that on TV lat night. Western Australia..Perth and Eastern Australia. They're really bad. If I were a young man with family I'd think twice about emmigrating there because the country is amongst thoose on the front line of Climate Change disasters.

Generally they are fine apart from the flooding. (y)

What did I say would happen to those making political / hot statements once I closed HT?
:p

I spent some time earlier today, as I do, responding to munch, only to find you'd closed up shop, brought down the drawbridge,,locked the cellar...... :D I had to laugh. It's like running for miles to get to the pub..for those who like a pint..only to find it had closed not long before... :).Tbh it will be good to have a break .I can get on with my Flickr uploading.

Cheers John, closing HT is quicker than banning a few irritants.
And I just might forget to "unban" them later.
[ strokes beard,] Hmmm now there is an idea :D

4 days of wind, no, I've not touched the Brussels yet! :p

But, the wind seems to have stopped! :banana:heavy rain is due though..

Drove back this evening - still 13 in Bedford, dropping to 11 at Brackley, a little rain. Wind was bad - 36mpg on the way home vs 46mpg on the way over. Plus I ate some brussels sprouts, and that makes everything HORRIBLE!!:facepalm::mooning:

"MERRY CHRISTMAS" everyone.

Still at 10-C here and drizzling with rain quite a strong wind. Pretty sure that's how its going to be for the rest of the day.

Merry Christmas all (y)

I'm dreaming of a white wet, breezy and very dull Christmas.
And that's exactly what I got :D

The temperatures being posted are remarkable for December 25th. Ancient_mariner's 14C in Oxfordshire, for example. . It's 11C here as I post but maybe it was up at 14C this morning. We now have drizzly rain. I'm sure I heard someone on the radio say that it's the warmest since 1996.

Weather warning for Wednesday re rain moving up from the SW.https://www.express.co.uk/news/weather/1848836/met-office-yellow-weather-warning-rain

We were out walking this morning. I started in a T, zippy fleece & showerproof, but could have been happy in the T after a few minutes. Crazy.
It's 10 oC currently, and according to the weather map it's set to rise by 2oc over the next couple of hours. Now that is weird!!
Oh, and it's still hissing down.

It's Christmas, just wear a massive silly jumper and save the heating
Wrapping up in a quilt is more satisfying (y)
