It should be a Bank Holiday!
Why?
Why?
So that we can get drunk and celebrate being english by binge drinking and ending up in a fight/in hospital/in a jail cell*

I don't see that we need another day off.
I'm still waiting for your answer btw.
**Personal insult removed**
I guess some people just feel the need to pee on other peoples celebrations...

come on, don't be so dramatic. Learn to have a bit of banter, it's monday morning!! Far too early to be so serious!![]()

I don't need to 'learn' anything thank you Joe. Indeed, I'd quite happily tell you exactly what I've learned but that's against the rules and I won't drop myself to personal insults unlike some.
I'll leave you to your 'celebratory' thread given no one actually wants to seem to discuss, simply ridicule.

Let's not forget this is not solely an English thing. It's been celebrated here too.
Another opportunity to give folk the chance to show their inability to tell the difference between the Union flag and the St George cross (see also England football matches).
union flag? do you mean the st patricks cross?
Happy St. George's Day all!
St. Patrick's Cross is a saltire (the cross is corner to corner) as is St. Andrew's!
St. Georges flag is flying high here in East Limerick!![]()
union flag? do you mean the st patricks cross?
I called it the Union flag rather than the Union Jack just in case it started an argument about whether it should only be called the Jack when flown from a ship:

ah right.
So you've seen people get mixed up with the union flag over the england flag? How's that happen, they are totally different?

While I'm not for/against a national holiday I do believe England should celebrate St Georges day!! Its not racist its our national day! We should be proud of our country im English, and shouldn't feel bad to be proud of that.
