Guess the movie from the clue Game...

It's not that hard if you break the first clue down, it contains references to two films that one of each of the main actors were previously in, plus references the lyrics to the theme song of a (very) popular US-crime show that one starred in for many years.....

although he met someone else who almost was,but that was over here, not in America

If I say it was before noon when The Mexican awoke, does that help?
