Gran Turismo 5

So how can you win with just 2 laps with the VW's? I can't find anywhere to up the amount of laps. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE help!! I'm ready to shove it on ebay!! :D
 
I just managed to get to 3rd place, about 2 seconds off 1st.

Break as little as possible, most of the corners bar bacharach you can be done with minimal braking. Bacharach can be done without it, just be careful of going into other vans.

It is a damn challenge. I am getting their, its within my grasp.

In 2 laps? Manual or Auto?
 
Coming up to the follow through I was in 6th on the First Lap, then in Bacharach I jumped 4 cars to go to 2nd and just chased down the last car. Remember to use slipstream.

By the way, I did it in Manual mwahaha.
 
How can anyone get past more than 2 campers in 2 laps...it's impossible???

If this is the only way to get the top gear track then it's going on ebay!!:D

Let me tell you how it's working for me. I click on Special then go to the 3rd column, the one with the VW camper and Top Gear track then i'm driving my VW in last place taking half a lap just to catch up with the guy at the back. It is impossible for me to reach any further, there just isn't time.

I picked it up yesterday, first thoughts, I was disappointed.

I was expecting much more and the loading times were awful. At one point it took me 4 restarts on the console, and 30 minutes later before I actually got a race going.

I was ready to take it back this morning, then I signed in for one last go and I got a notification to disable the network settings, as they were experiencing high traffic on he servers. Apparently the game interacts with the servers constantly and this was causing the poor load times.

Now I love it. Ha. The photo mode it awesome, B class is ridiculous in my eyes, I mean who wants to sit there and give 4 commands to a computer for 6 laps? lol.

ANybody on here, add me on PSN.

I've been messing around this evening, doing the B and A licences. Also started the special events - got 8th on the camper van one, which I'll go back to some other time, lol. I've done the 4 sectors of the Nurburgring in the 300SL Gullwing, it's a joy to drive :D

The hardest thing I've tried so far is in arcade mode: Suzuka wet, Calsonic GTR, professional difficulty, using the inside view... Jeeeesus it's amazing!

Sounds like you just suck :P. I get past 4 VW's easily after Chicago. 1 on the first corner, 2 on the second, 1 more on the 3rd.

I can only manage 3rd on the VW Buggy test. It is doing my head in, it's so slow!

On the other hand, my 800+BHP C63 AMG is amazing! :P
 
Got gold on the VDUB Campers after fifth go, 0-60 in two days though, oh so slow, why did they include that test?. Up to level 12 now, starting to get a little more interesting.

Can't wait to rig up the Logitech Force GT wheel to the ironing board later.
 
Adam, what do you think to the Force wheel?

Is it worth getting one, does it make much difference to using just the pad?

Can you put the gear stick on the left?

I have a Logitech G25 and it's so fun with the steering wheel. Especially having Rear wheel drive cars and just putting a bit too much and kicking the tail out.
 
Craig Force GT is worth every penny, brings the game alive, but takes a while to master. You really have to change your playing style to that of a pad. I think I got it for £60 at BT shop. The ironing board has never had so much use lol.
 
OK are you guy's seriously winning the VW Bus special Top gear track in just 2 laps starting from the back? I just can't see how it can be done as the bus is just too slow!
 
Andy, take one guy on the first corner, and then on the second corner which is like the little chicane, you should be able to get past two.

I cut inside one, go across him and then inside the other. Basically draft for as long as possible to build an extra little speed.

Brake late, and the last 3 corners I hardly brake at all.

as for the VW buses, I have been getting my hair off! 1st in to last corner but went off into grass so had to start again. never been as close since! think i'll rip my hair out soon!
 
I wish it was released on PC, but I can see why they keep them exclusive...I am trying to think of ways I can afford a PS3 as I type :p

You can get a PS3 for free on a 24 month contract, starting from £20 a month.

haha I had actually looked there, but would want a new phone too for that and the free ones on £20 a month are laughable.

Just managed to get gold with the lotus on the Top Gear track earlier, took me almost an hour!

In the Merc 300SL? You'd be surprised how much you can throw that beauty around, I got silver in sector 1, bronze in sector 2, 3 and 4, then silver overall :thumbs:

I'm going to try the intermediate AMG challenge next, same track & sectors but in the Merc SLS :D

Ah I should clarify - silver in first 3 sectors (just) - bronze on the last and silver overall....Hence why wanting to shave 10 seconds per sector for Gold's.

Bigger balls and keep it on the track. Same as any other track really. The ring's just a bit harder because it's so big, and the bumps.
