Gran Turismo 5

got mine yesterday... finished that first licenses - although not all gold yet...

had a play with the VW vans on the top gear track - man thats hard.. best result is 8th!

finally got this.

i forgot how patient you have to be at the beginning with licences and slow races etc.

1. are people getting many gold or silver in the licences?

2. i read of people using steering wheels, i've always been tempted, but how do you play with it, when sat on a sofa etc.?

P1tse,

Google the wheel stand pro.

Or if you have money to burn, playseats!

£100 for a stand!
i don't even have a wheel so all this is well over budget

I've just found this thread about GT5 as I was going to post a pic from the Photomode in the game. I was tempted to see how may thought it was a real pic. ;)

TVR Tuscan on the Top Gear track btw. ;)

As for the game, I've found it disappointing. After 5+ years of development it should have been better than it is in so many ways. :( I don't know what they have been doing for all that time, but I don't think it was working full time on GT5. :nono:

I'm still playing it though, after having to buy a PS3 to play the game. :bonk:

I'm up to level 17. Just trying to rack up some money to buy something powerful enough to take on the sports cars. ;)

i am enjoying it , but i am thinking similar , more of an evolution rather than a revolution .................

If you want realistic looking shots, there's a whole thread on GT planet devoted to it. One of the best I've seen is:

That's by gagtooth from the GTP forum. It's fantastic. My best offering is something like this:

The Skyline pic is excellent. Very realistic.

I like the Ferrari pics too. ;)

I entered into some of the photo competitions on GTPlanet when GT4 was out.

Here's some from the GT4 photomode I posted there. ;)

I seem to remember the effects were nicer on GT4, but that may be false memory syndrome. ;)

hmmm rapidly going off this game.

every time i log on to it, 30 mins worth of downloading updates.......
no matter how hard i crash it, the car remains undamaged.
no logical order to do the races
you can sell a car, and then no way to ever get another one.....

pretty poor really.

Its okay, thats my thought.

It takes ages to do anything in the game, soooo long loading each section.

Some cars you can't buy, you have to wait till they come up for sale in the used section.

B spec is sooooooo annoying, cars have to be so much more power, I can easily win a race by over half a lap, yet my drivers mince along and get 6th, so then I tune the ass of some car and they can win??

I must admit haven't been on line yet, although not expecting much, I think it will only work with friends any sense.

I do like the inside views of the cars, but standard cars are pretty poor, some the graphics are awesome but odd times I have thought why have we waited all this time, just to have million different skylines, where are all the worldwide famous tracks, we get top gear test track but no proper UK track but some crappy London street track, the track listing was better on need for speed shift for crying out loud.

Think it will be back to black ops.
