I'm an Xbox gamer, always have been, always will be ... however ... it is sooooooo tempting to buy a ps3 :eek: I'm not sure its worth it though ... it works out rather expensive ...

Yes, plus the Logitech G27 at £230 and the wheelstand pro for £100. :nuts:

You could buy a cheap car and a handful of real track days for that. :thinking:
 
Oh yes ... that Logitech wheel looks nice. I wonder how much my housemates would moan if I put my bent kart chassis on the living room floor and made it into a permanent GT5 seat!
 
WOW!!! GT5 is SUPERB!!!!! I have just been racing in a Teslar electric sports car!! Bizzare!!:lol: Awesome graphics and easy to control. MEGA!!!

Well I got the telly and ps3 - so im very very tempted :)

didnt know about the top gear track, that might have just swung it for me! :)
 
just rang my local morissons and they have 30 in stock , £37.99 and then - 10% for staff discount :thumbs:
 
The Top gear track in available straight away just in the practice bit where you test your braking and steering etc. It's not available as just a plain old test track or Arcade mode race track which is a real bummer. It's only available to race on when you get enough money then it's unlocked.

I hope i'm wrong as i would love to practice on the Top Gear track.
 
Oh and be careful what circuit you choose when driving the Fiat 500. Some tracks it can't get up hill and it rolls backwards!!:D :D

Any recommendations for a half decent steering wheel for this (not a G27!!)

You can practice on it when you get above a certain level. I'm level 12 and have it unlocked in arcade mode, I can't remember exactly which level it got unlocked on. Possibly level 5 or 6.

My thoughts are that it's more classic Gran Turismo. Physics are similar to GT5P, although not as unforgiving as that online demo they released a few months back. Kind of between the two.

Photo mode is still great. You can access it from any replay as you can see above.

Car selection is lacking IMO. 1 Aston Martin to buy new, 2 TVRs to buy new, 1 Pagani to buy new, and no Noble at all. I mean really. We have all 32 versions of the Nissan Skyline, but no Noble.

I suspect they're going to keep releasing DLC for it with new car packs for the next few years. Let's just hope they're free.

Personally I think it's pretty good, but not as good as the hype suggests.

Thanks Chris, i was just going to ask how you get to race on the Top Gear track!! Those VW Type 2 busses are getting on my tits! :lol::lol::lol:
 
The VW's annoyed me so much, finally got Gold though.

I'm on LV8 and still no Top Gear track in Arcade Mode. I only really mainly bought it for the Top Gear track!!
 
I found the Campers hugely frustrating because I kept shunting the back of them. The computer is so poor on the brakes. :lol:

The Lotus Elise challenge is more fun, but equally frustrating for the CPU's lack of braking/corner speed talent.
