Bargain!

Congrats, that is a bargain !!

Was it listed in the correct category ? Or was it just no body else was lookin ?

Out of curiosity I have looked on the bay to see this bargain but can't find it in the completed listings .

I am not in any way suggesting this is untrue :)

I've got a bad feeling that this is going to be a "story" thread.

Don't seem to be any bargins on eBay at the moment. Even the hong kong scammers are having to raise there prices!

How do you search in that bit?

Ignore that I've found it! :bonk:

Very little of that story made any sense to me.

Thats only because I'm a bit "grey" in these areas.....

Can someone explain it in thicko's terms ?

Basically, ebay is allowing people to embed stuff in their ebay adverts which is subverting the web browsers and showing things from other sites rather than the auction that they think they are viewing.

The story says that mozilla are going to alter the firefox browser to prevent this (although it is really a web site issue).

As you can see from the pic the example they've chosen is a canon lens.

this would be consistent with the situation whereby someone thinks that they've seen an auction but it isnt there or completed in the ebay searches.

If you notice CANON in my listing is spelt CANNON!!!
if u type in CANNON like that<< than it will bring up all the spelling mistakes... and just think how other people whould spell the make wrong like: Cannon, Conon, Kanon ECT ECT.....

hope this helps
xx

Still can't find it:shrug: there are no misspelt listings showing up in my search:shrug:

So to quell my curiosity can you post a link to "my listing" to see this bargain.

Discovering poorly described or misspelled listings is the best way of picking up a bargain on eBay as there are way too many auctions to trawl through every single one so nearly everyone searches for an exact phrase.

I came across a brand new, boxed 24-105mm and picked it up for £450 including delivery because the title of the auction was "CANON IMAGE STABILIZER". Seeing they'd already received +ve feedback for selling one of these in the past, I took a gamble and won big time.

The misspelling of Cannon was a favourite but it seems eBay now automatically corrects your search unless you search for "Cannon" with the speech marks.

You never used Fat Fingers to search for misspelt items? Its grand and saves you doing it.

LOL. Love this chicks username: Nikkala

You cant blame her for not putting up a link until it is in her hand.
