GEM SLR Bag

I got mine a couple of days ago and its amazing for the price. Easy as good quality as any Lowepro bag I've had an at least half the price in fact probably a third of the price. If you are still considering buying one of these then stop considering and just buy it, you won't regret it.

My shoulder bag is as tight as a drum with my standard "walkabout kit" and whilst I wouldn't choose to carry more weight, I might welcome not having to pack things in quite such a confined manner. Two questions for all you happy purchasers please:

1. Are there any straps to hold lenses or body into their pockets? Failing that, might there be scope for lengths of strapping made of velcro?

2. This is a potential "Oh bu$$ger" point for me. The depth is stated as 13 cm which is shallower than a gripped and tripod bracketted Canon 40D body at 17cm or, on its side about 15cm.

Please, the dimensions stated - are they spot on/bit slack/bit tight?

The "pockets" are formed by dividers with velcro. You can use a spare one of these across the top. They are 7.5cm wide. Or you could use a velcro strap.

Mine measures 11cm deep, but the panel that zips over it can flex, more so if its pockets aren't crammed with batteries in joined together cases etc. I've just tried it with two lens cases 12x12x20cm, making a 12x24x20cm block, which fitted OK. This is for the bigger backpack, which I bought via eBay.
