Garth (from Wayne's World) is 60 years old - The 'what makes you feel old' thread.....

The first time was when I was 18 and walking down the street. Some mother and her toddler were walking along too. The toddler wasn't looking where he was going and was about to bump into me. The mother told him to "don't bump into that man". I'd never been called a man up until then.

Ralph Macchio, aka the Karate Kid, is 53!
+1. Saw him on HIMYM I think and was surprised at how old he was. Ditto with "Robin" from the Dark Knight Returns - it was when I found out he was Tommy from 3rd Rock from the Sun.

More recently, it's when your childhood heroes die.

Anne of Cleeves?

I remember a few: Jilly Johnson, Linda Lusardi, Suzanne Mizzi

:middlefinger; To both of you! The pinup of MY youth was the incomparable Farrah Fawcett, specifically THIS poster, as pinned up on almost every red blooded male of my age's wall (or ceiling...) Just realised that I'm a year younger than Nilagin, so :P !!!

I have to attend a work related training session on Monday, the blurb I have received states that the normal age group for the training is 19-24 I'm 64 so not looking forward to this at all. :(

Yep I think I had that, think I sent off to The Sun for it. Very nice.

My boss was born in 1979, he didn't find it as funny as I did when I told him that his birth was closer to the 2nd world war than it is to today.
Oh great. I was born in 1979 and now I feel ancient.

The 18 year olds who did vote in the last election were only 4 or so when the twin towers went down!
Aaargh! Where did all those years go?
I'd just started my accounting training when it happened (I was actually in the training college when I got a text telling me about it) - seems like yesterday. I can even remember the seat I was sat in in the classroom.

I once told someone to stop smiling like Cherie Blair. They did not know who that was, or even who Tony Blair was. They were born in 1997. That made me feel old.

So they'd have been about 10 when Blair left office? Should really know who he was then.
I definitely knew who Thatcher was when I was 10.
Or do children not watch the news anymore? We always had the 5/6 o'clock news on in our house.

Assuming you are going to retire at 65... what's the point?!

Steve.

What makes me feel old? The fact that my Wife takes every opportunity possible to remind me that I will be 40 this year :(

Needing glasses.

Or more that the optician told me I need glasses because of my age.
