Not that tech savvy it says W 8 so wondered if was ok on 10 my canon scan 9950F won't play on 10 and canon say no upgrade looks like new scannerWhy, is it thought to be a problem?
At 4Tb it obviously isn't old. I have been running a 4Tb Seagate on a Mac for a couple of years and it is fast, but I couldn't comment on the GTech.
What concerns do you have?
Cliff thanks for that I'll have a lookFor your scanner, look at Vuescan software, as this is available for many scanners, new and old. There is a free trial.
To be fair, your scanner also says it's not compatible with win 8.Not that tech savvy it says W 8 so wondered if was ok on 10 my canon scan 9950F won't play on 10 and canon say no upgrade looks like new scanner
I spoke to a Microsoft area manager at a training course and he told me and others that anything that had drivers and worked on Vista and upwards would work on Win 10, maybe worth a quick email to |Microsoftmy canon scan 9950F won't play on 10 and canon say no upgrade looks like new scanner
Gavin it worked on 8/1 but not 10 thanks everyone I'll have a playTo be fair, your scanner also says it's not compatible with win 8.
Have you tried installing the win 7 drivers from the canon 'toolbox'? (which is I assume what you did to have it working on win 8).

Back to the external Hard Drive, a drive is a drive is a drive..... and is plug and play.
My current (very old) external hard drive is not "compatible" for win 7,8 or 10.... yet has worked flawlessly through all those upgrades.
So in essence - it'll be fine.![]()
A lot of the time it is the actual installer that doesn't work as many a time it does an operating system check. More often than not you'll fun it will work when you find the actual .inf file which will have the driver information and you just manually install that one through the device manager windows for your "unknown" device.Gavin it worked on 8/1 but not 10 thanks everyone I'll have a play
i would doubt that. we've got laptops that have all of the required device drivers for 7 but cant find any working 10 drivers for toffee.I spoke to a Microsoft area manager at a training course and he told me and others that anything that had drivers and worked on Vista and upwards would work on Win 10, maybe worth a quick email to |Microsoft
