No
has anyone got this drive running on windows 10 thinking of getting one

I don't... but it is worth saying, that there is no relevance to working on windows 10, if it worked on any "windows" platform, then it'll work on 10.

Why, is it thought to be a problem?

At 4Tb it obviously isn't old. I have been running a 4Tb Seagate on a Mac for a couple of years and it is fast, but I couldn't comment on the GTech.

What concerns do you have?

Not that tech savvy it says W 8 so wondered if was ok on 10 my canon scan 9950F won't play on 10 and canon say no upgrade looks like new scanner

For your scanner, look at Vuescan software, as this is available for many scanners, new and old. There is a free trial.

To be fair, your scanner also says it's not compatible with win 8.
Have you tried installing the win 7 drivers from the canon 'toolbox'? (which is I assume what you did to have it working on win 8).

Back to the external Hard Drive, a drive is a drive is a drive..... and is plug and play.
My current (very old) external hard drive is not "compatible" for win 7,8 or 10.... yet has worked flawlessly through all those upgrades.
So in essence - it'll be fine. (y)

I spoke to a Microsoft area manager at a training course and he told me and others that anything that had drivers and worked on Vista and upwards would work on Win 10, maybe worth a quick email to |Microsoft

A lot of the time it is the actual installer that doesn't work as many a time it does an operating system check. More often than not you'll fun it will work when you find the actual .inf file which will have the driver information and you just manually install that one through the device manager windows for your "unknown" device.

With regards to the drive, there should be no issues whatsoever.

i would doubt that. we've got laptops that have all of the required device drivers for 7 but cant find any working 10 drivers for toffee.

Got the G Tech 4GB drive very solid build, quick with my PC, had too format for windows as it comes plug &play for Mac just followed the instructions on line took me about 10 minutes not savey.not cheap, spent the last two days sorting all my old photo files out putting on drive then same up to smugmug.
Now the hunt for a new camera begins 6D,5D3,7D2,or do I wait for the mythical 5D4?

Nah get a Sony :p
