Yes
We met with some clients recently about their forth-coming wedding plans. Didn't think anything of the date, 31st October, until we walked into their house. Everywhere looks - GOTH!

The bride-to-be is so excited - every one should be I suppose. But this one is different.

We always go through with our clients what their expectations are and this was no different except their expectations of what they'd like to have happen on the day.

I should've also have been suspicious of the time of the said nuptials..... 5:00 pm. Hmmm - let me think. Clocks change the weekend before - so, let me see. Oh yes, it'll be dark! Black even!

Let me quickly list the expected scene as presented to us.

1 - Bride will be wearing a Black Wedding Dress
2 - Bride will arrive at the church in a hearse
3 - Younger bridesmaid is also a Goth with attitude who doesn't want to wear a dress, has black, spikey hair but wants to wear it slicked like Gok Wan.
4 - The ring bearer is a terrier dog with a ring cushion saddle attached to it's back.
5 - The page boy (dog handler) has the expectation of fainting at the altar because he's seen too many "You've Been Framed" videos. It was explained to us that his temperament is a bit unpredictable to say the least - who knows what he'll do.
6 - The vicar has drawn the line at no cut-out pumpkins in the church.
7 - Bride's mum not at all happy about the hearse
8 - Bride not certain she'll fit in the hearse (we suggested lying down in the back)
9 - Guests will wear fancy dress (only at reception - vicar has banned it in Church - how many will remember?)

Oh - how we are looking forward to this one! :bang:

Now that sounds like a lot of fun! At least you won't have the problem of blowing out the whites on the wedding dress.

Doesn't it just!

Ha ha..... that's what we said. Just worried about 'greying' the blacks! ;)

Well you won't have to worry about blowing the highlights on the bride's dress. Only one more thing to say about this...rather you than me.

Gah, beaten to it by Hacker!

:) Well its certainly going to be an experiance thats for sure

I can't wait to do it! What an experience and if we pull it off it will look good in our portfolio! :)

Each to thier own i guess!

although I can't say I drew much inspiration for our wedding plans!

It will be different. I helped out at one earlier this year. It was so much fun. One of the bridesmaids was a bloke!!

I did a 'semi-goth' wedding last year and the best man was a best woman. At least it was a sunny day and in the middle of summer.

Really, it does sound fun but a big challenge. Good luck with it. Would love to see some of the pictures if you can post them up after the wedding.

Sounds like it is going to be a real challenge but a lot of fun.

What are your thoughts so far about how you will handle some of the shots i.e bride in black dress walking out of a dark church and into the dusk if not night? Were you thinking of setting up lights or just go with flash.

Just curious, so no worries if you don't answer.

I was wondering what Barry & Marianne will be wearing at the wedding? Will you two be dressing as goths?!! Well the bride and groom might want it!
