The early X series cameras that were still called Finepix were all great. The super zoom X-S1, the classic design shorter bright zoom X10 and the large sensor prime lens X100.
I never had the X-S1 but heard it had a very good lens, it used the same 1/1.7 inch 12 MP EXR sensor as the X10 which I used a lot and really liked, it has an incredible good lens which is important for a compact camera. The sensor is a bit tricky to use with it's different modes of combining pixels, and those tricks are obsolete nowadays with better sensor technology. I still use the successor X20 which has a normal, more modern sensor but still the same great lens. It still makes great pictures and is beautiful to use as well.
The X100 is a great camera and I still use the original sometimes. This camera is still made, now in the 6th Iteration, but Fujifilm dropped the Finepix brand in the second iteration, like with the X20. This camera brought me to Fujifilm and I still use their X system cameras today. For buying an X100 today I would go at least for the second X100s since it has many small improvements.
Not sure if these now called X-series cameras can really be considered Finepix, but I guess the first iteration had a lot of the previous spirit, especially with the EXR sensor in the smaller cameras. But they had nice new features as well, like in-camera RAW processing, not sure if the X-S1 has that but I assume it should since it shares the electronics with the X10.
