Fuji X-E1/X-E2/X-E2S/X-E3 Owners Thread

I think I'm going to enjoy this camera!

Crappy light, raining, cold and windy.. Still the X-E2 delivers. Full size, the first pictures sharpness almost back the hills is incredible.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on an XE-2 and taking advantage of the current promotion to also get the 35mm f1.4 lens. Where I'm hesitating I guess is with the rangefinder style. Have any of you had difficulties adjusting to this layout coming from traditional DSLR styled cameras? Do you feel you are giving anything up in usability between the XE-2 and X-T1, and is it worth investing in one of the handgrips?

Any views most appreciated.

Thought of another question!

How is the viewfinder in bright sunlight? Reason for asking is that there doesn't seem to be too much of an eye cup, and I wondered if stray light was a problem in line with some users experiences with the GX7?

The 35mm would be my first choice from those 3 closely followed by the 18mm. I've used both and own the 35mm which is superb. I've never used a 27mm so would be unfair of me to comment on it.

No probs with the switch over. Much prefer the fuji layout as well

I've had the 18 and the 35. Would go for the 35 every time

I still have my dslr system with me and not planning to give it up. Not a big problem when it comes to the button layout, you'll get used to it in the long run. I just wish the 4 way button of the X-E1 can be customise.

You are right there is no enough cover on the eye cup and I've experience this stray light while out with the X-E1.
 
I use my left eye to the viewfinder and sometimes have stray light problems with my X-E2. Whish fuji would come up with an extended eyecup like the one for the X-T1.

Mine was really hard to move and made the grating noise. Sent it back to Fuji and they musnt have been able to fix it as they sent me a new one thats perfect.
 
Thanks for all the replies to my questions. After a lot of thought I've decided to stay with m4/3 rather than run two systems together or go through an expensive transition. So, instead of an X-E2 I've gone for a GX7 instead :-)

Just a quick question regarding the X-E1 and ISO noise. I rarely go above 1600 as I hate noisy images, how well does it handle it? The WEX offer with the X-E1 and 27mm f2.8 is becoming increasingly tempting. :whistle:

I don't have a Fuji... but I think I'm safe in saying that pretty much any modern camera with a sensor of MFT size or bigger will give you acceptable ISO 1600 images and even allow some boosting of shadows. My Panasonic GX7 is certainly pretty good at ISO 1600 and I'm pretty sure that a Fuji will if anything be even better. Personally I'd put worries about ISO 1600 to the back of my mind :D

I dont find any problem at 1600 ISO,but again its down to how you see noise some people see it worst than others :)

I think the fuji noise is quite nice, very film like.
 
Well Ive done it and bought a x-e2 refurb from the fuji store. Couldn't quite stretch to a new one with the lens deal although I really do want the 35mm but £495 for a refurb X-E2 is not to be sneezed at :)

Indeed. Is this your only camera? Just wondered how you have found it as a system? Not sure i should be investing in a whole new interchangeable lens system. I have seen some of your 10 stop filter work and it is superb.

I carry the x-e1 around with my nearly all the time... So light. But I just can't part with my 5dmkii and serious kit... Took me five or so years of buying and upgrading to get it and a good selection of lenses. If I go out alone to take photos I take the canon. But if out and about generally I now just grab the Fuji....
 
Thanks. That was using the 35mm at 1.4. The b&w were using a Minolta rokkor 35mm 2.8.
 
Yeah i saw on Flickr. Nice work!

I'm torn... I want this as a more compact street style camera so the pancake lens on offer from WEX would be ideal but would 27mm be wide enough and maybe a little limiting? Then that would leave me wanting more lenses which are bigger which negates the benefit of a smaller camera...
