Fuji equipment trim down

Alternatively, an X-T10 (which I have) is like a T1 Lite. Not that different really and would leave you a few more pennies to put towards glass.

I'm happy enough with mine and will probably keep it until an X-T2 is within reach.
 
Does the XP1 genuinely produce nicer/more film like images compared to newer Fujis or is it a figment of the imagination?
 
I'll throw this one in....................If you don't "need" to sell them don't sell them :)

I take between 1500 and 1800 shots a month it seems, 80% are relegated to the trash for not quite having the right framing, not having the focus quite right or perhaps a tab overly exposed leaving blown highlights (im terrible for that!).

Good plan. Least the XP2 & XT2 will give you different shooting experiences :)
 
Don't sell it to LCE !!

They offer very poor part ex rates ! How about trying MPB they are far more competitive !

Having looked at what they were looking to offer I thought it was fair. But after looking at finished prices on eBay and knocking off 15% to reflect forums pricing I can see they've shorted me about £750 over everything which is a hell of a lot! I was expecting a few hundred less but that's excessive. Maybe selling on here is the way forward after all.

Many believe it does, myself included. It's only really since the xtrans iii in the XT2 and xpro2 that that feeling is coming back. The xe2, xe2s and xt1 are all superb cameras and much faster than the Xpro1 but they lost some of the warmth, emotion and over all character that the Xpro1 produced which I why I've always kept it. Now I'm attached and I'll not be letting go any time soon that's for sure.

Thanks. Interesting, I might have to try an XP1 and X100 at some point too then ;) How close is the XT2 to the XP1 in terms of this film quality?

Thats a good question Toby for those with both,im going to hazard an unseen guess and say the xpro 1 is still more film likeas im thinking the better res of the 24mp fujis are sharper but as our friend said probably the newer trans perhaps less digital compared to the xe2 xt1.be good to hear opinions,whatever the answer still not be like the x100
 
I too have been going through the process of slimming down my Fuji equipment lately - I've sold the few primes I had and my XE2 and now have just an XT1, my newly acquired XPro1 and my 10-24, 18-55 and 55-200 zooms. Funnily enough, I feel so much better with less gear.
 
The film simulation modes work beautifully but the resolution of the images taken with the xpro2 seem to be somewhat above that of those taken on film cameras. If I was to run an leica M2 with a 35mm sumicron f2 or similar on some ISO100 Acros and then use the xpro2 with acros sim and the f2 23mm (35equiv) I'd see heaps of extra resolution and detail on the Fuji over the film rangefinder. Doing similar on the Xpro1 with its standard mono yields a better more film like resolution with similar shadow and highlight rendering. Something the xt1 couldn't quite do. The new Fujis do a superb job of rendering in a way similar to film but the resolution takes a little away from that finished feeling although it's closer than it was on previous generation bodies. Perhaps some vintage glass on a xpro2 may help with it? Who knows..
