Yes
Event Cancelled due to National Trust copyright issues.

Will be posting info on a new location in a few moments.

Looking forward to this, hopefully will be as successful as Bolton Abbey was, it was nice to see everyone, and hopefully this one will be as good.

Not much futher away and lived round here most of my life and apart from a school trip and maybe a trip with grandparents when little I have never been, seems such a shame with lovely places local and beats sitting in the house.

Damn, thats my mum's birthday :( If the date for this does change for any reason in the future then I will be there :)

Would love to join you on this meet, but I'm afraid I'll have to pass... it's just too far :(

Too far for meeeee - roll on another southern // Wales meet!

I know, it's a scary word - Wales

I wouldn't mind doing wales at somepoint next year, we're on about a holiday there for a week or so anyway so might be able to faction something in.

Don't change it just for me. But 13th I would be able to make :)

Nothing set in stone yet, just looking at my off duty thats all but not a big deal for us to go 13th. Would be nice if you could come, more the better. So anyone else.

I've got a couple of big jobs at work in January, they finish on the 12th. So the 13th would suit me better.

13th it is then :) any day is fine by me, i just wanted a firm date so we knew where we were from the offset

Excellent :) Just been having a look at it from above ( Here ) Looks good! Think I am going to need some new lenses for this one :D

6th wouldn't have been good for me. Tis my 30th then :D
May be able to do the 13th. January is quite a busy month for us actually. My 30th, my sisters 35th and my other sisters 40th...That and us moving around then.....

Should be able to make the 13th though :)

I might be interested but would have to figure out how Im going to get there.

So you can put m down as a maybe :)

Glyn

yeah being from 3 places must cause you one heck of a headache when working out how to get somewhere else

Was trying to see where the nearest train station was if anyone wants to do it that way, but cant see anything very close :(

 @ Darksaber - yeah you'll all look like an F1 pit crew in matching gear :D

Atleast it will be easy to meet up, as your all going to be easily identifiable - as if the thousands of £££s of camera gear isnt a dead give away :)

Everyone knows what I look like from my avatar anyway - "I presume you're Matt?" - yup thats me.

I have it harder - "and you are?" - "Bob"......mmmkay and whats your forum name? "Gandalf" - cool!

 Yeah introductions at LANpartys used to be an experience in itself with all the names and pseudo names :D

Pffff... I have the excellent advantage of my forum name being my name. Makes introductions easy... Although nobody can say my name quite right at first:suspect:.

If this is National Trust property you might want to be careful about photography, I was reading an article a few weeks ago about how some -photographers were not allowed to take images as the NT wanted the copyright (or something like that).

This is from the NT website:

"The National Trust welcomes amateur photography out-of-doors at its properties. We regret that such photography is not permitted indoors when houses are open to visitors. However, at most properties special arrangements can be made for interested amateurs to take interior photographs by appointment outside normal opening hours. Please contact individual properties for details."

And this is a quote from the Royal Photographic Society forum following a question from a member, the response was apparently from Chris Lacey, Library Manager of the National Trust Photographic Library.

"if the land on which the photographer is standing whilst taking images is owned by the NT, and this land/ attraction is a pay-on-entry property where the photographer has to pay to enter, then unauthorised photography access is forbidden to help protect the intellectual property rights of the NT as a charity. Prior written permission is required, and a contract signed subsequent to the negotiation of fees and conditions. If no ticket has been purchased, and images are taken, then the same conditions of contract are required. In this instance, a donation from the photographer to the NT is always welcome, and is put towards the upkeep of the property."

I don't want to rain on your parade but I thought you should know this.

Reading that again it sounds like as long as we're outside / in the ruins its fine but I'll get in touch with them to clarify.

A lot of the old stately home places dont like people taking photos inside. Sewerby hall at Bridlington doesn't

I wouldn't worry about it, I've been to Fountains Abbey and taken plenty of pics in the past, I think this stuff only come into force if you want to sell your images afterwards.

This is a very critical subject for me as I submit images to agency's and if I don't get written permission from the NT (release form permission) I cannot use my images to send to agency's. this includes all the grounds, not just the inside.

But if you are just their for a day out and to take some pic's you will be OK.

A friend of mine had to get a release when he went to photograph deer in the park at fountains as the shots were for a paying client.

Okay I've gotten a reply from Andrew Moss who deals with the group visits. I've emailed him back for an estimation on a commercial use release just in case anyone is interested.

Dear Matt Charlton

Your party of photographers will be most welcome to visit Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal.

Generally there are no restrictions with regard to outdoor photography on this estate provided that the images are for personal use only. If any of your party are intending to publish photographs taken on the estate or to use the images commercially then permission needs to be sought and a charge may be levied.

Naturally we would expect photographers to ensure that their activities are not interfering with the experience of other visitors to this World heritage Site.

If your party is likely to exceed 15 persons we would expect the group to book their visit in advance. This is easily done by phoning or emailing myself with brief details of the party such as:

Date & time of arrival
Contact address
Numbers in the party
Whether you require assistance for any disabled people who may be in your group.
Catering requirements - if any
Guided tour requirements - if any.

Pre booked groups of 15 or more people are eligible to discounts on the normal admission charge.

I will post further details to you today.

Please give me a call if you have any other queries or wish to make a booking.

Regards

Why not organise a meet in the middle of the country then folks from all over can make it.

I probably will at some point - or someone else can, I'm just organising trips around what me and sue are planning on doing anyway, I'm not the official TP meet organiser and anyone can plan a meet :P

Wales is next year, when its warmer.

Well Matt as long as weather permits I'll be there. I've been there before but not since I've had a dslr so it will be interesting. Not sure about the hubby and child as hubby's kinda shy.

Theres nothing official about me, apart from I'm the official plaything, I like having new titles and my post count zeroed :p

Jar Jar binks' lovechild indeed.

I'm kind of shy as well, but hey I keep to myself kind of and take photos, like been behind the camera and not infront of it.
