For the 'younger' members of TP....

Im 17, started when I was 12 with a P&S

Yes - I'm only 18 and I'm a female :D

I got my DSLR about 2 1/2 years ago as a present for my GCSE results. Never did photography at sixth form as it wasn't an option. Doing an Art Foundation course at Uni now where I get to do photography stuff, but next year I'll actually be going on to a Photography & Video course - wahoo! :D

Ooohhh I thought you were my age/older! I hated my foundation.. It sucked big time!!

I'm 30 but have the mental age of a 30-year-old who's drunk too much, did too much of things he shouldn't at university, and saw some things that kept him wondering......

I'm 29, feel old reading this thread though!

Wouldn't mind a meet up in London town sometime....finally finish contract in Newcastle end of March so I'll actually have some time at home :) Pretty busy over Easter, but you may well catch sight of me staggering along the Thames before/during/after the boat race around Barnes with a bottle of wine in one hand and slr in the other :P

So ageist! We'd need a bouncer to check ID upon arrival :p

Sorrrryyy, this is the young person thread

I am not sure what is considered young on this forum...

It would be good to have a meet, first thing or late afternoon and night or a bit of both...

Well.. I can't go to London unless some sort of booze is involved.. It's tradition :p

I've just noticed, we live down the road from eachother :p

London, cameras and pubs all sound good to me!

Ok older people - who's up for gatecrashing the sprogs meet? :D

Would be a nice idea. But the only downside is there are some who are under 18. :'( ... I guess we'll just have to sit in the corner with a coke. Lol.

Aw I really wish I could come to a London meet with everyone but it would be so much hassle and money for me to get there! Damn. :(

NO! You must come if we arrange it!

15 over here! Have been photography seriously now for no longer than a year. I bought my first DSLR on Boxing Day and since then haven't really spent the whole day photographing and therefore haven't given it a full test run yet. I did go to London last Saturday in my Moprhsuit with 2 friends and used it a little bit, was a bit wary though as I stuck out like a sore thumb as it was! :gag::cuckoo:

best keep out of this one, i,m only 53  so while all you kids are meeting up where,s the experiance going to come from...... (joke)

Im 25 but feel about 18 at the moment,

In my first year at Salford Uni and living in a house with a bunch of 18 year olds can make me feel old at time.....

Depending on timing I would be up for a london meet :)

Well past 40 now, but I picked up my first camera when I was 12 and bought my first Nikon Pro camera when I was 17 - an F2-AS with a 35mm f/2 lens.
Followed that 2 years later with an F3 and have spent all my spare cash ever since on cameras, lenses and ancillaries (though I've managed to make room for some stupidly expensive bicyles and cars as well).

I was always to be seen with a camera and recently met up with a musician mate I hadn't seen for over 25 years when he was in London playing a gig - he still has loads of B&W prints I made of all of us at Reading Festival, Glastonbury, even the old Penny-Farthing pub in Oxford where we used to go and see local bands play.
His other friends are apparently dead jealous that he has such an awesome gallery from his teenage years.

Yep...stink the place up, show them how to shoot while completely drunk and talk our way into a t1tty-bar and out again without paying the extortionate bar prices or getting frog-marched to an ATM by two Russian mafiosi...
Then blame the 'yoofs' when it all goes wrong, fall asleep on a park-bench and get robbed...

Count me in, sounds like a plan.

I'm doing a PhD in theoretical physics, cold atoms and quantum gases. Basically I do sums all day :)

Sounds cool! (I would argue that you're a physicist for a living not a mathematician though. That kind of stuff sounds way too applied for me :p)

Sounds like a night out I had in Thessaloniki, except we did pay extortionate bar prices and had to pick up a €300 tab :D We have since learned from our errors.
