Seems like... and not surprisingly i'm the only Pompey fan here! I get to about a third of the home games and some away games.

Worrying times for us but i supported them in the 4th division and i'll carry on supporting them in league one!:(

I'm not even sure that they will be in existence come next season.

Stoke fane here :P

think would be good if each saturday we opened a new thread to last the week - then lock that one the following saturday?

Support a team that play a game similar to football....Derby County :shake::shake:

What is football?

That was a close one :D

was a weird game indeed.
To be 3-0 up at half time (could of been 5/6) most stoke fans were in shock.
Second half was alot closer and a bit tense at the end :)

Pompey fan here

bad times at the mo though, i have followed them through thick and thin

Man United fan here and I'm sorry to hear this.

1977 was my first game and as much as I love my footy - I'm slowly going off the game.

I've a Pompey friend on another forum and I've joked about how I'd not miss that bloody bell but it's a sad state when we come to this.

I know the fella from West Ham chucked some money in albeit for their own benefit but I just get annoyed by it all.

i know what you mean its Money money money these days, do they even care about the fans? or do they just see us as revenue

I agree Peter has been treated unfairly most are just looking for someone to blame, Maybe this should be the League?

Yes, sad times at Pompey. I was there in 1980 at Northampton when we went from the 4th division to the third and i'll be at Fratton Park next week for the quarter final against Birmingham. No matter what division we will end up in. I will be there!!!!!!!

I also feel Peter Storrie has done his best for this Club. I shall be sad to see him go. PUP

As you may guess from my user name on here I am an Ipswich Town Supporter. Have been most of my life and have had a season ticket for the past 7 years. The whole family go and as my son is a wheelchair user we sit almost on pitch side which can have a slightly odd perspective at times .

ITFC have been great to us as a family upholding the tradition that it is a family club and looks after it's supporters. They even gave me a signed shirt to auction when we were raising money for Williams adaptions. Although the football is not that great this year I will still be there next year .

I guess you could call us mad (if the cap fits then wear it!!) My daughter went to her first match at 15 days old - against Milwall

Sad as it is what is happening to Pompey I think it is not before time and I hope that it pushes the chairmen and leagues to try and get football back on to an even keel financialy and give the game back to the supporters who go in all weathers, home and away, to support the club they love.

Come on you Blues

Maybe the Spurs fans better start watching their backs. Clubs that the loveable old rogue 'Arry has managed and gone into administration:

Bournemouth
Southampton
Portsmouth

Pompey have spent well over their income and that's purely down to Peter Storrie and Harry Redknapp. Got those players in who won the cup final on fat salaries with a ground that holds 20,000, minimal executive capability so the telly money is already spent. There is a rumour that Harry got £1m from winning the cup and the players got £250k each. Who will buy them as there will not be a market like there was 10 years ago. I can see the prem bubble going pop (hopefully).

Chester got ejected from the conference yesterday after breaking 5 rules. The other clubs decided to eject them, if you have to break rules then the situation must be financially tight. Chester only owed £25k to the taxman but to a club that size, it's huge. Spare change for a premiership player.

Nothing is getting passed down to help the smaller clubs and all the wealth is being kept at the top. The Bundesliga designis the way forward for the English League

Another Argyle fan here, season ticket holder for my pain!

I wasn't born here although I have lived here for 48 years.

i think the pain is when they sold all their best players 2 seasons ago when they looked like a good side and could have genuinely challenged for a play-off place.

look like they will be a league 1 side next season :( well money talks, they sold the players for money and thats why i dont pay to go and watch them lose every week at home.

shame really i dont think they ever have aspirations of making the premier league.... even if its for 1 season take the money and run. the board were too gutless to take that chance.

What a fantastic weekend's football.

yeah the leaders lost  and arsenal won i hope it is a 3 way title chase

when is the bubble going to burst on the finances of all these premier league clubs? the average working man cant afford to go to watch the games anymore, its way overpriced. the players are way overpaid. football needs to come back down to earth and take a reality check.

One happy United fan here.

Bit lucky not to loose Nemanja Vidic though

Great result for United tonight.

Fantastic reception for Becks - and he picked up the green and gold !!!!!!!

I was there shooting it, only about 15ft away when he picked up that scarf... didn't realise until I was chimping the pics after he had gone in the tunnel - the maddest few seconds ever!

You could see he was holding back the tears!

Lucky you  he did look a bit emotional.

Saw Barcelona tonight v Stutgart - Barca looked pretty impressive.

Well I'm a Stoke City fan here, for my sins... We're doing well this season although with us it's very much substance over style :)

Anybody going (togs or fans) to United V Liverpool tomorrow ?

Big game in our family and important points to be had. Utd (fingers crossed) going for 4 titles in a row and perhaps more importantly a 19th title and Liverpool fighting for a Champions League place.

Gonna predict 3-0 to the champions today. Liverpool's 3rd game in a week so think United will be a lot fresher. 2 goals for Rooney and 1 for Park.

Paul

You wasn't too far out on the goal scorer tally!!

Wasn't there today, had a private rugby commission in St Helens.. don't think I could have dealt with the pressure of being at United after Torres scored anyway :gag::lol:

Where are all the Swansea fans then!? =)

Having spent a few years living in Swansea - I always look out for them. I lived on Spring Terrace which was right next to the Vetch.

As for today's Utd Game - Happy days !

Cheslea dropping points too. :D
