was a weird game indeed.
To be 3-0 up at half time (could of been 5/6) most stoke fans were in shock.
Second half was alot closer and a bit tense at the end
Yes, sad times at Pompey. I was there in 1980 at Northampton when we went from the 4th division to the third and i'll be at Fratton Park next week for the quarter final against Birmingham. No matter what division we will end up in. I will be there!!!!!!!
I also feel Peter Storrie has done his best for this Club. I shall be sad to see him go. PUP
As you may guess from my user name on here I am an Ipswich Town Supporter. Have been most of my life and have had a season ticket for the past 7 years. The whole family go and as my son is a wheelchair user we sit almost on pitch side which can have a slightly odd perspective at times .
ITFC have been great to us as a family upholding the tradition that it is a family club and looks after it's supporters. They even gave me a signed shirt to auction when we were raising money for Williams adaptions. Although the football is not that great this year I will still be there next year .
I guess you could call us mad (if the cap fits then wear it!!) My daughter went to her first match at 15 days old - against Milwall
Sad as it is what is happening to Pompey I think it is not before time and I hope that it pushes the chairmen and leagues to try and get football back on to an even keel financialy and give the game back to the supporters who go in all weathers, home and away, to support the club they love.
Maybe the Spurs fans better start watching their backs. Clubs that the loveable old rogue 'Arry has managed and gone into administration:
Bournemouth
Southampton
Portsmouth
Pompey have spent well over their income and that's purely down to Peter Storrie and Harry Redknapp. Got those players in who won the cup final on fat salaries with a ground that holds 20,000, minimal executive capability so the telly money is already spent. There is a rumour that Harry got £1m from winning the cup and the players got £250k each. Who will buy them as there will not be a market like there was 10 years ago. I can see the prem bubble going pop (hopefully).
Chester got ejected from the conference yesterday after breaking 5 rules. The other clubs decided to eject them, if you have to break rules then the situation must be financially tight. Chester only owed £25k to the taxman but to a club that size, it's huge. Spare change for a premiership player.
Nothing is getting passed down to help the smaller clubs and all the wealth is being kept at the top. The Bundesliga designis the way forward for the English League
i think the pain is when they sold all their best players 2 seasons ago when they looked like a good side and could have genuinely challenged for a play-off place.
look like they will be a league 1 side next season well money talks, they sold the players for money and thats why i dont pay to go and watch them lose every week at home.
shame really i dont think they ever have aspirations of making the premier league.... even if its for 1 season take the money and run. the board were too gutless to take that chance.
yeah the leaders lost and arsenal won i hope it is a 3 way title chase
when is the bubble going to burst on the finances of all these premier league clubs? the average working man cant afford to go to watch the games anymore, its way overpriced. the players are way overpaid. football needs to come back down to earth and take a reality check.
I was there shooting it, only about 15ft away when he picked up that scarf... didn't realise until I was chimping the pics after he had gone in the tunnel - the maddest few seconds ever!

Anybody going (togs or fans) to United V Liverpool tomorrow ?
Big game in our family and important points to be had. Utd (fingers crossed) going for 4 titles in a row and perhaps more importantly a 19th title and Liverpool fighting for a Champions League place.

Wasn't there today, had a private rugby commission in St Helens.. don't think I could have dealt with the pressure of being at United after Torres scored anyway
