Very good stare shot, well done
Scott, that's a stunning shot... What a stare.. nearly didn't see the rest of it... and I do have to agree about the comment, she does look a little like the new Dr Who assistant. I have to agree on the comment about a little more DOF to bring in the earing... it's clear enough to want to see it sharp...
I prefer the first pic. Very pretty lady and good interpretation
Exotic and fits the theme perfectly. Lovely use of DOF.
Lovely stare shot! Really lovely eyes I agree with Phil a smidgen more dof focus would have been good just to get the earring in focus but that is being very picky![]()

It's a poignant shot that really has a whole new meaning with the story.
I really like this.
Very nice.
Ian.
God, that's sad, but beautiful. Really touching, mate.
That's beautiful Scott.
The shot in its own right is gorgeous, but combined with the story it has extra meaning for the theme.
In fact it brought a lump to my throat - we had our oldest dog put to sleep 18 months ago.
I love the way that the light is filtering through the blossom and the focus on the more distant flowers really works to make you feel like you're peering through the branches.
Thank you for the link to the Goth weekend too - some really interesting shots in there. I particularly like the ones taken in the cemetery. The location gives an extra bit of atmosphere.
Scott, the sentiment behind your image for peace is very touching and poignant.
To the image itself, I think it is perfect. I like the composition and viewpoint you have chosen here, it draws ones eye in and through the cherry blossom to the bright blue sky beyond. A simple but very effective image that works all the more for your thinking behind it.
Iain
The image is perfect, Scott, and the story behind it reminds me of every dog I've lost - you never forget them.
Jean

That is a lot of stuff there Scott.
A lot of stuff....
My indulgence this week was a bit of welding glass...
Nicely laid out, and pretty good quality for a camera phone.
Good stuff!
Ian.
you sure know how to indulge yourself !
Nice load of kit there Scott, definitely been some indulging going on there!
Well that is certainly VERY indulgent!!!!
Makes me feel a bit sad about my lack of kit
For a camera phone it's not bad quality at all, although I don't think that's really what this shot is about anyway.
. I agree this weeks shot is more the subjects than the photo and I don't know anybody local with a spare D3S As has already been said Scott, not great in quality but it is from a phone...
But, this fits the theme best of all entries this week for me, good thinking and well laid out!!
I ought to show my Mrs this pic, she might realise I dont spend that much on my gear....
I love the sentiment and the picture for "Peace".I have a couple of dogs buried in my garden. I think the theme for your photography kit should be "green" because a lot of people on here will be green with envy.Definitely indulgent though.
Thanks you for the group hug, Scott.
Indulgence: Now that's what I call indulgence on a grand scale. And I'm not in the tiniest, smallest bit jealous. :razz:It most definitely fits the theme.
As a matter of interest, how much do you use the S5Pro compared with the D300? I've still got my S3 Pro and find I'm not using it a lot, but in good light, it's a great camera, especially for portraits, and being a crop sensor it gives me a little extra reach. I just wondered what criteria you use for choosing between yours?
Jean
Peace, a lovely shot, made all the more by the story that goes with it.
Indulgence, my word... you have been indulging haven't you... nicely laid out and well done with the phone.

Heh, I know what you mean. Ingredients did nothing for me either.
I know nothing about motorsport photography, but that's a cracker and really does convey speed with the wheel off the ground like that.
That's a cracking Candid too. Really like the catchlight in the eyes. It's just a shame about that white frame running down the LH side of the shot which is a bit distracting. Not a lot you can do about that with a candid shot though.
Good stuff. Nice, bright and sharp.
Ian.
Candid re-shoot ..lovely crisp picture.
Luv the speed image and the candid shot is nice and sharpe. Well done
Two superb shots there! Not much else I can say really
![]()
Nicely done
Excellent action shot... on one wheel at an awkward angle too... spot on capture... and a really good candid too
Nice idea!, looks like a UFO![]()
Scott, that is very different ... an unusual take and a nice idea. Strangely, with all that black in it, it works...
Reshoot: I know nothing about bikes, but this looks a cracking good shot with all the thrills (and imminent spills?). Love it!
Stop: Hehehe - this made me smile and I would have had to think about what it was if you hadn't said! I agree with Sonia and John - the black works well with the UFO!!
