Ladies and Gents, this is probably the first post of many on here. Been searching the forums and there is some great advice (and plentiful).
I am just about to venture into the world of DSLR, moving from a Panasonic bridge cam where I learnt to use the manual functions of the camera.
I have my eye on a 40D at the moment, Canon being a preference over Nikon. I like the idea of having a great FPS rate & buffer as I'd like to take some motorsport shots with it, but also use it for Landscapes and portraits.
I have found a 40D with the 17-85mm IS USM lens at £759. Does this sound like a good deal?
I have been advised that I'd be better off buying a body and a different lens, e.g a Sigma 17-70 or a Tamron 17-50mm. I have an idea about the lenses I would like to complement these (something around 10-20mm wide, a 35 or 50 prime and a 100-300 tele) but at the moment they will be something I will have to look to getting in the future due to finances.
Thoughts/advice?
