erm Andy what does the title mean......why not "A reflection" ?

Reflected glory is associating yourself with someone else's success. Gives us more ways of interpretation that "a reflection", innit.

This is correct. Lets not be so obvious eh Brian. ;)

H'mm Anyway who is going to post a shot first for this interpretation for some ideas.....but I'm sure a shot that I'll enter might have been copied by someone who was a "great success". :D

Personally, I'm waiting to copy what @Andysnap makes pictures of in the lakes and then make them mine by making them slightly out of focus and underexposed..

:D:D:D

Well I thought a challenge was to go out and think for ourselves i.e. our own ideas.......So are we supposed to choose a well know photographer and try and emulate his\her shots ...well I'm sure someone well known as taken pictures of a boat on a canal and it's my idea for the challenge.

It's my idea to copy the work of Andy and reflect in the glory of his work, to be honest if Osh had been coming to the Lake District meet I would have copied him but he's not so Andy will have to do.

Well if anyone with a kiddie can emulate these shots will get my vote...but quite amusing in that he has copied the idea from old paintings......and it all goes back copying basic paintings on cave walls :D

Brian, you take everything so literally. :banghead: You can interpret the challenge any way you want, if you want to copy another photographer do so, if you want to take a lovely shot of canal boats reflected in the water do so, if you want to take a picture of yourself posing coyly in a mirror do so....oh dear, I shouldn't have written that bit.:runaway:

Brian: Please, please, please listen! I've got one or two things to say.

The Crowd: Tell us! Tell us both of them!

Brian: Look, you've got it all wrong! You don't NEED to follow ME, You don't NEED to follow ANYBODY! You've got to think for your selves! You're ALL individuals!

The Crowd: Yes! We're all individuals!

Brian: You're all different!

The Crowd: Yes, we ARE all different!

Man in crowd: I'm not...

So, exactly the same as the originals then. :D

Blessed are the cheesemakers.

Well Andy I was thinking of a shot for a challenge that you chose...but why didn't you say "Anything goes" for the challenge title:D

Blessed are the cheesemakers.

Well, obviously it's not meant to be taken literally; it refers to any manufacturers of dairy products.

But it isn't 'anything goes' it has to be in some way connected to the phrase 'REFLECTED GLORY'. Right, I'm not explaining it any more, you have to make your decision and enter or not with a shot you feel fits. The voters will decide......

Ah, the voters, eh? Leave it to them and we'll have to shoot bearded geography teachers on canal bridges...

ETA: perhaps "shoot" was a bad choice of word there... ;)

well it could of been worse, it could of been a "fine art" round

Thats a good idea, fingers crossed I get to chose the next theme :D

What about "something dead"...the mice are back in my greenhouse chewing up tomatoes and leaks...and am on safari with mouse traps :D

Hmm ... I have been wondering what to do with that prostitute's body I had to hide in the garage

I didn't know you were a lorry driver Dean....:D

I need some big holes dug in the front garden (for shrubs) you're welcome to use em :D

I guess most of us should have some thing for this one, even if it is variations on the same hill in the same lake.

How long have we got? I've some careful selecting to do what with this and POTY15, followed by a bit of PP work on whatever gets chosen...

End of the month.... ish.

Another few days and we shall be closing this one down.

Last call for piccies.

Last chance folks. I will be closing this tonight, unless I forget. :)

I've got nothing. Sorry Andy :(

Come on Nick you can produce some winning shots...think laterally on the word "reflected" a clue was in the link I gave...all you need is some VG event in the past and would be classed IMO as "reflected Glory". (y)

I agree with you Brian and I do have stacks of suitable shots in my library but they're all old shots and not shot for this challenge, I had hoped that there would have been something suitable from the Lake District meet but unfortunately they came out like this
Nagaoka Velvia 01

 :$ forgot it's for new shots:rolleyes: but for anyone else any shot of an event say two weeks ago would loosely do as reflected glory........ well IMO.

Two weeks ago is fine IMHO.

Poll now added. (y)

Voting is still open folks. We are currently in a 3 way tie so some more votes would be appreciated to see if we can separate.

Ta

Andy

Only 5 entered, but it appears only 6 have voted so far, come on folks, we can surely do better than that!

Well who ever wins there has only got to be one next challenge and that is :- "something to do with Christmas"...that surely would flood the challenge with shots.

I've voted, maybe folk think they have to have entered to qualify for a vote
