Hi there,
I feel I must write to you to express my dismay over your Easter Egg products over recent years. Allow me to explain.
When I was a child, being the youngest of three children, I always drew the short straw at easter. While my two elder sisters were receiving Easter Eggs accompanied by the various products' mugs, I was simply palmed off with smaller eggs, which were often accompanied by nevertheless tasty, but one-mouthful morsels, such as Buttons, or a Curly Wurly.
I always felt left out, as my eggs never came with a mug, a mug which I so yearned for. Pleas with my sisters to let me use their mugs, or indeed maybe have one, fell upon deaf ears. I had cruel older sisters back then.
Even so, our cupboards would be adorned with mugs such as Wispa, Dairy Milk, and I'm sure there was a Crunchie and a Double Decker mug too. For years I desperately wanted one of these mugs, but never got one (nor got enough pocket money to buy one for myself).
Now I'm an adult in my own right, I can treat myself to such luxuries and thus for the past few years, I have been searching for similar easter eggs with mugs. Unfortunately, I come home each time empty handed, and dejected.
Another easter, chocolate-mug-less.
This year I did find one easter egg with a mug, but it was Homer Simpson, and lets face it, he's fat, yellow, and not someone I want to be sipping hot tea from. Infact it's the same shape as my wife's current mug, and I think that's too close to being 'girlie' for me.
So now I'm mugless once again. I'm not sure why your company has stopped manufacturing them, as such eggs used to be so prevalent. But sadly not any more, which is a darn shame. Therefore I feel I had to write to you to let you know that as a lifelong chocolate lover (I'll step on the scales to prove it if you like), it is with a heavy hand on my heart, that I am giving up in my search for an Easter Egg mug from popular chocolate brands such as those you manufacture, and am retiring to a life of mugs adorned with the words "Tea" or "Coffee", available from Asda at 99p. If you do ever decide to reintroduce Easter Eggs with mugs, then you'll find me amongst the earthenware section of Ikea, wandering aimlessly with a slight whimper and a sad look.
Kind Regards
Marcel, aged 27 and 1/4.
PS. On the upside, thanks for some ace chocolate over the years, and for keeping Creme Eggs on the go.
PPS. Bring back the Milk Tray adverts..."And all because the lady loves...." They were top notch.
