F1 season 2016

It is looking doubtful if PDVSA will pay out but you never know

Chances are Alex Rossi and Pascal Wehrlein. are in with a good chance at Manor but so is Will Stevens and Rio Haryanto That is if Kevin goes to Renault

Well thats Wehrlein at Manor bringing some money in (either cash or free/reduced engine price) whos the other rider going to be

Loads of commercials during the race too - Petronas, Red Bull etc..

Red Bull livery launched.

Horner being a little defeatist.

"We decided to go for something a bit more innovative and aggressive, with a fresh feel to it that will stand out in the crowd and stand out in a few more drivers' mirrors," team boss Christian Horner said of the revised livery.

That car behind you is a Red Bull :p.

Feeling optimistic today, ordered the rocket red McLaren t-shirt just in case their engine really has improved and we get a win. Not long to wait until we see, I hope toro rosso is faster than RBR straight out the pits, Horner probably has a book full of excuses ready

I am very optomistic I hope RB is behind Reno so they can set up the wail that they havnt got the works engine

Renault have been quoted saying they will be using RBR as their benchmark because they know they will have a better chassis, they are stuck using lotus' which was built for a Mercedes engine

I know but it would be nice retribution, then again its been quoted that Newey isnt involved with the details of the 2016 car then one can have fantasy's

Disappointed with the livery of the Haas car. Mind you, the Sauber and McLaren paint jobs are rubbish too!

Yup was expecting a yellow car out there either reno or Hass but no the brightest car seems to be the ferrari with its red and white
Lets hope the racing is more colourful than the cars

Bernie talking BS again
As an ambassador for F1 he is the prime reason for the bad press it gets
Now his noise issue has been addressed and his rain sprinklers dismissed and his alternative engine dumped and his wear out tyres being the main reason the cars cant go fast enough
He now wants reversed grids but not fully reversed only half reversed WTF
Times up Bernie, time to comfort Tamari in her hours of need and do a bit of gardening

Isn't the half reversed thing how it works in other formulae like BTCC? I do agree though Bernie needs to go, someone new should be taking over soon anyway, he's what 83/84?

It is, but then they can follow each other and do some pushy shovey overtakes and make it interesting...reverse part grid in F1 would just see some random winner and some p***ed off champions stuck mid-field unable to do anything :(

Bernie has given this some thought thats why he likes a half reversed grid so the champions are battling decent cars All artifical
Can you imagine the uproar if they did it like btcc ignore race one and two and go straight to the race after qualifying
  • The grid for race one is decided during Saturday’s qualifying session
  • The grid for race two is based on the finishing order of race one
  • The grid for race three is based on finishing positions, however there is also a reversed-grid element to the starting order. Numbers representing the cars that finished from sixth to tenth position in race two are put into a bowl, and one number is drawn at random. The corresponding car will start on pole, with the cars that finished ahead of it reversed i.e. if number six is chosen, the car that finished sixth in race two will start from pole ahead of the car that finished fifth, fourth, third etc. The remainder of the grid follows as per the finishing order of race two
I think the present rules are just about as complicated as they need to be if not more so

He is involved in the Lamborghini SUV as about as far as you can get from F1

The engineering and politics have been more interesting than the racing for some years now.

Ooh what do you reckon bright green or orange [emoji3]

You'd certainly be able to see it on track

Green. Orange will always be associated with McLaren.

New qualifying ideas
Just when I thought the gimmicks had run out
Might work might not but I seriously have to ask do I care anymore
I have moved from being passionate about F1 to being a casual watcher

Surely that's just made up?
Q2 would see everyone eliminated after 90 seconds as no one would have completed an out lap at that point, plus I'm sure a lap of spa is longer than 90 seconds.................

Unanimous agreement from the teams too.

Might give better racing but God knows how you follow it all on the Saturday?

Cheers, but will this make much difference to the top teams?
Q1 - Merc, Fezza, Williams go out in first 7 mins and post a time to get in top 15, like they do now. The rest squabble for the remaining places.
Q2 - Same as Q1 really, top teams post time early then park in the pits.
Q3 - will force everyone to give it full beans from the start I guess, if your in the bottom half after the first flying lap what's the chances of improving on older tyres as there will be no time to pit.

The only unknown will be when it rains and then a drying track but that's what it's like now anyway without the added complication of having cars dropping out.
Will they be able to 'complete' their laps I wonder when the 90 seconds is up, that would be very confusing.

Stefano dominicali is in charge of Lamborghini now, I doubt there will be a real Lamborghini f1 team but you can always dream

Yes I read that - it was the comment about the colour that confused me.
