I think what he has done, (the beard, the name, the persona), is part of a protest, although others say that it was for commercial reasons …………. the protest element he speaks of in his interviews

Not sure its a protest thing as Conchita has been dressing like this since at least 2012, it not just a eurovison thing.

Sure about that?
He's been applying for Eurovision since 2012 too :-)

I wish you would read what I said "part of a protest" about the way etc., he and other transvestites etc., have been treated and are being treated

......... carried on at the ESC not started at the ESC ..........

my last posting as it is getting tedious and just a "word" debate

Drag queens, or female impersonators, have been part of entertainment for centuries. They were a staple of music hall; recognised by Freddie Mercury et al.

A 2 minute think gives me Danny LaRue, Les Dawson, Steve Coogan, Kenny Everett, Paul O'Grady, Barry Humphries.

Why do people have a problem with this bloke? It's beyond me.

Just a wild guess here, but I'm thinking its because he acts feminine,
speaks feminine,
Where are the others were obviously "bloke-ish"?

Well, it's that time again !!!

Anyone else being made to watch it again...

Lets hope Graham is on song and has a glass of wine or 2 :D

Perhaps if I could think of it as a modern version of The Goodies then perhaps, just perhaps, I might get the Eurovision. But since I loathe talent shows in all forms, I shall be giving this one a wide berth as I struggle with my hearing loss as it is anyway.

Serbia is going to be a huge hit.

I'm,loving it. Its a good laugh.

Cyprus still has me in stitches. I could swear the guy was wearing those comedy glasses with a big nose attached.

And Australia (wtf) pretty bad but not quite bad enough to be good b

He's being unflattering about their singer.
If I was going to be unflattering I would have said something else :)
My money is on Italy and Sweden this year.

Sweden I think, although he may have been too good. My wife and daughter both liked him ;)

Germany is not bad either.

It could be won by cleavage.
So, Greece, Germany, Russia, Albania...
90% of songs are in English this year. Montenegro's song will be a big hit in Montenegro- no-one else can understand it.

Maybe Sweden or Germany, but Belgium is an interesting outside possibility. The political bloc voting buggers everything up though.. ..

Null point for Australia though, just for not being in Europe.

(the Norwegian redhead should be a shoe-in for the Taylor-Wessing though..)

Well that is that over. We are switching to watch Wrong Turn 6 now.
