I have just been given an epson stylus dx3800, went out to get ink and saisburys were selling them for £40. i mean what? i used to own a couple of epsons before and the most i spent was £10. Anyhow i wanted to try and put some refiller ink in the cartridges and the epson prompt on screen has detected that 3rd party ink has been put in and is refusing to print.
i am not happy with epson, as the couple of identical printers i had before and both seemed to break down on queue the exact same time a few months after the warranty wore out. I worked out that they are programmed to break down so an epson engineer can be called out and fix it at an obvious call out charge. This seems cheeky to me, but is there a patch or a work around to make my epson accept my ink and stop being so stingy and expecting me to buy expensive epson only ink cartridges?
