Thought I'd add my experience of e-cigs.
I found out I was going to be a daddy 2 years ago now - I didn't want to be a smoker when the sprog came along, and smoking around a pregnant (non smoking) wife wouldn't have gone down well either.
Ordered a SkyCig two days after we found out. I was never a massively heavy smoker - it was mainly habitual - 10 - 15 Lights per day (the 15 days were usually including a night in the pub), something like that - but I still found myself unable to quit.
Lets be clear - giving up smoking takes will-power, and determination, but after 3 weeks on the E-cigs, I started to taste things properly - simple things started to happen, like cutting down the sugars in my tea, and being able to taste subtle flavours (celery, which I hate - in a stew - would never have noticed before, but YUK!)
Then my e-cig started to stop working. But instead of going back to the fags, I just perservered with the e-cig. Inadvertently my consumption of Nicotine was being cut down. So I ordered new batteries, and some new capsules. By the time they arrived, my whole set up had failed for two days - I'd had one cigarette in that time.
When I plugged the cart in, and finally got that vape, it made me feel ill.
So, from that point, I decided to give up the e-cigs as well.
2 years minus a month, later and I am smoke free (the smell turns my stomach), Vape free, I feel far better, and my little monster, has no idea that Daddy used to be a smoker.
E-cigs are great - but for me, they're a way to give up - not a permanent solution....wishing everyone the best of luck in their quest to be smoke free!
