Anyone up for a cold wet and windy Dorset meet sometime? :)
I know the weather will be rubbish, but i'm moving there next week, and need something to do :lol:

I probably would all depending on how many go, Dorset is a nice place :)
 
Would all depend on when it is and how well off / strapped for cash I am at the time!
 
I will be living in Dorset, but know absolutely nothing about the place, so someone with local knowledge would be good!!

Coastal landscapes might be good, as there aren't really many people :lol: and a lot of places will start closing for winter soon i'd assume (castles for example), not sure on that though :)

well, south dorset will be the place then.

from corfe castle along the coast to lyme regis is pretty photogenic, durdle door, man o'war bay, lulworth cove, eype, burton bradstock, charmouth, lyme bay. All good really. Best at sunrise and sunset though although that's perfectly do-able at this time of year!
 
Are you still living in Bath, Spencer?
If so, could I hitch a ride with you down Dorset way (I can get meself to Bath no problem). Cut your petrol costs in half :naughty:
 
Although i'm not in the UK until around the 11th of Nov i'd be interested to come along :) Dorset isn't far at all for me and it'd be good to meet some people :)
 
Does anyone have any date ideas in mind? I don't think we can wait to long, or the weather will be really unpredictable, which could be a problem :)
 
If no one minds a newbie tagging along, I would be interested.

Good to put some faces to people on here as well as seeing how the pro's do it

Of course you can Mr Ansari! You may have to endurte my slightly eclectic taste in music but it shouldn't be too bad!

As for dates.......I'm around sunday and monday this weekend then after that just name the date and i SHOULD be able to make it!
 
I'll be up for this as long as Ghandi is, then - cos trayn fares to Bath are rhee-son-ah-bull.
 
Ok, shall we aim for a weekend date towards the end of November? and Gandhi, would you be up for taking the lead on organising?, as you seem to know the area :)
 
ok, then, provisional dates are........18/19th november or 25/26th november? Let me know what's best for each one of you and I'll book the time off now! If anybody wants to make a weekend of it there are plenty cheap b&b's around.

As for location.......Depends on weather again but will probably be multi-centre along the dorset coast unless anybody has any VALID *cough* objections?

Looking at the weather forecast though our best bet might be this sunday!
 
18/19th would suit me better as I'm up in Yorkshire the following weekend, and at Santa Pod this coming weekend. So many meets, so little time :lol:

I wouldn't mind making a weekend of it - but I guess it depends what "cheap" is for a B&B :D
 
Location wise, what are we looking at? and maybe i'll start an attendance (of possible attendees!) list :)

ok, 18/19th gets my vote as well. Will do some investigation as to b&b's etc this week and get back to y'all. Shouldn't be too hard to find one though during 'off' season! I'll have a squiz at some sort of intinerary as well.

I hope all attending are ok with early starts (dawn) and late night drinking of whisky round a fire regailing all with tales of woe, flat batteries, mirth and drudgery?

The B&B prices sound very affordable. I'd be up for a weekend jobby.
 
I'm gonna book the 18/19th off work today. So I guess it's gonna be then!

Could someone make this adhesive and apply it to the top of the forum please?

Where is that Spenc?, is their a local rail link and that... for those that need it.

So, I'm thinking, for me :thinking: ...ride down on Saturday midday and meet you all in a pub or on the beach shooting or something. Then get myself a B&B sorted that afternoon, and then meet you all at a chosen location for the sunset shoot...then later, the pub again....

...the reverse of that on Sunday morning to catch the sunrise. :D

Yep, sounds like a plan! Haven't had chance to look at the maps yet but will do this morning and decide where is good to go. Rail link? Dorset? Who's coming by train? they can always get in my car as it will have 2 spare seats!

Early as you like really. I'm pretty easy and as long as we are in dorset for 1pm ish so we can meet up and catch the sunset all should be good. It's about 90mins-2hours from bath so any time after 10am sounds good to me.

Let me know what you think! Dunno what time you need to be back sunday but I'm pretty easy.
 
Are there any other females going on this meet, or am I gonna be one of the boys for the weekend? :help: :lol:
 
I don't have an internet connection in Dorset yet as i'm staying in B&B, but i can check emails at work, so if someone could email me updates that would be cool :) (i'm home at the moment, hence this post!).

Do we have any further ideas on the location yet? :)
