Apology accepted, and reciprocated.
The issue I complained about was us not being able to dry any laundry outside without it smelling, not how pollutant free the air is... merely whether my underpants smell of grilled pork or not. Air pollution was the furthest thing from my mind. As for your point about sorting it out yourself and not complaining, I did... or tried to. I was told to **** off. Where do you go then? Start a fight? No.. I did the only civilised thing left to do; complain to someone who could sort it out, which is pretty much all that's left to the OP, as he's tried to negotiate too.
As for clean air, well.. I don't drive a diesel, which is becoming rare these days where everyone and his dog seems to want a diesel for some stupid reason, as diesel engines produce massive amounts of particulate pollution compared to a catalyst equipped petrol engine. Even so, I have opted to do the vast majority of my driving in a small 1 litre car with very low emissions. I also refuse to renew cars for no reason. I have 2 cars, one is 12 years old, and the other 8. This is not through financial necessity, but a conscious choice. The 12 year old car is perfectly serviceable, and the 8 year old car is literally as new with only 15,000 miles on it. The 8 year old car will continue in service until servicing it becomes untenable. The 8 year old car will remain in the family until I die. A 2004 analysis by Toyota found that as much as 28 percent of the carbon dioxide emissions generated during the life cycle of a typical petrol-powered car can occur during its manufacture and its transportation to the dealer - and this is from a company well known for wanting us all to buy a Hybrid.. so that's probably a VERY conservative estimate. People who trade in cars for a new one every 2 or 3 years are irresponsible.
With the exception of this computer, which needs to be what it is, every single household appliance is chosen for it's efficiency and nothing more.
I, when allowed to, buy everything in bio-degradable packaging and not plastics.
I also don't subscribe to the upgrade culture that drives manufacture and this economy based on endless growth that is utterly unsustainable: My phone was made in 2006.
I re-use computer parts when upgrading other machines in the home or studio. My wife's machine still contains parts bought in 2004.
I walk if it's practicable to do so instead of driving.
Public transport in this town doesn't work and is not efficient. A bus with a 8 litre diesel engine and only 10 people on it is NOT efficient, or "green" no matter how many idiots try to tell me that it is... so I don't use the bus.
I never fly unless there is no practicable alternative (this was a tough one... I love flying).
I refuse to buy a Hybrid... they're an ecological disaster. I also evangelise like a Mississippi preacher to any idiot who tells me they're thinking of buying one. Don't do it people.... they're an ecological ****ing nightmare!
Off the top of my head... that's what I've done, which is probably a great deal more than most.
Incidentally.. what have you done?

Someone smart arse will probably point out that one of those cars is a 4.6 litre V8... and they'd be right... but it does less than 1500-2000 miles per annum. It's only insured to do 3K a year. I've worked out that my fuel usage with the Micra and the Mustang, is approx 40% less than it was when I had one "average" car... The Micra averages 52mpg urban.... (which is, incidentally, considerably more than you'd get from a Pious... I mean Prius.
