And every time its pushed a dozen Jaffa cakes rain down in the staff room, yep that could workCan you change the like button to Jaffa Cake button?
That would solve the problem![]()
TBH we the staff have seen it used quite a lot in the past as a "weapon"Seriously, anyone feeling "bullied" or "stalked" or "mobbed" by a like button being pressed really needs to turn off the computer / phone and step away.
I amYes maybe but you also find those that bleat the most aren't so sweet/innocent/perfect themselves.

Maybe those you are thinking of aren't. But there is a variety of different things going on here.Yes maybe but you also find those that bleat the most aren't so sweet/innocent/perfect themselves.

.
Who has ever been either sweet or innocent? There's certainly never been anyone perfect..Yes maybe but you also find those that bleat the most aren't so sweet/innocent/perfect themselves.
Its probably not practical on xen , or would be too much hand coding for Marcy, but on some other forums when a thread is locked the Like button is disabled along with the rest. I dunno if that might be an option here.
The other thing is that its main usefulness (as its 'sposed to be used) is in the crit forum to acknowledge crit, so is it possible to only have it active in that sector of the boards and dectivated in say OOF where its main 'weaponised' useage seems to be

I know it is a offense met by severe punishment, but eh I prefer Oreo cookiesCan you change the like button to a Jaffa Cake button?

I'm amazed by some of the subsequent posts. Do people really go back into locked threads to take a look at the likes someone else may have received. Seriously? Can't say it ever crossed my mind.

Its something that has been discussed in the passed, the jury is still out on it.but on some other forums when a thread is locked the Like button is disabled along with the rest.
Its more a case of "liking" a post, after a thread has been closed to carry on the argumentI'm amazed by some of the subsequent posts. Do people really go back into locked threads to take a look at the likes someone else may have received. Seriously? Can't say it ever crossed my mind.
That's your name added to the staffroom toilet wallsI've typed an answer and hit reply that I notice it is locked. Flipping annoying that is. Now if we had a dislike button the last moderator might get one![]()

Its not something i'd make a habit of - but i'd guess the mods can't help noticing
I bet they;d be pleased to be relieved of RTMs too......I'm not one, but I can imagine.
I'm not sure what your point is - I don't make a habit of RTM either , as i said to matty two in the last week (one at the request of the person reported) is hardly an avalanche... I don't report anyone unless they are either way out of line and/or in breach of the rules (I'd suspect most people adhere to that standard - excepting a few sad cases), so if someone is butt hurt about having been RTM'd maybe they should look in at their own behaviour instead of blaming the person who reported them
not really relevant you two, RTM's are neither a badge of honour nor grassing to the teacher, they are just a quick way of letting us know about something, bad or good! So back to the point perhaps?![]()

arty:
I used to be on a funny weather page on FB, but I think I posted something they didn't like so they ban me from commenting so I left lol. What the name of yours? While the "like" option here at TP doesn't really bother me, it does more so in Facebook where there are a number of people on my facebook friends list who treats the "Like" button like a machine gun - hence how sometimes I wake up to something like 50-plus notifications on my wall and 46 of them are my past comments and statuses that has suddenly been "like"d by one person overnight.
Usually a quiet private message to that person containing a gentle bit of advice sorts that out. Of course, it may also help if I don't post quite so often in facebook in the first place! But tricky when I run a weather page in there and that attracts a fair bit of attention, especially at this time of the year. Same goes for my doodles.
Bloody trouble maker that sounds about right, but I think I posted something they didn't like so they ban me from commenting so I left lol.
I use the like button a lot, especially if someone has had the curtousy to crit my images or reply in one of my threads. As said you don't want to keep writing thanks all the time. At the end of the day its a like button for letting people know you like something. If its advice, a point of view, a crit, comment, what harm does it do?
As for oof I have views on things but I've tried arguing my points in that section but people just don't know when too admit that I am right and they aren't so are beyond help, so I don't bother anymore![]()
Who? Me??Bloody trouble maker that sounds about right![]()
