Dont forget to change the time

You mean it doesn't do it automatically? I pay 1000€ for a camera body and have to change the time manually??!!

that also assumes you remembered to change it in october

Well, I wanted some sunrise shots, so I changed the time on mine to 04.50, but the light stayed exactly the same.

I paid a lot of money for this 400D. Total rip off. I'm going to sue Canon.

I think it would be easier if they simply abolished this ridiculous twice yearly clock changing and kept with GMT all year round.
The evenings are already getting nice and bright so I can't see the need for them to suddenly be made brighter.
It would also mean no sudden change to dark evenings in October and we can gradually adjust as nature intended.

It's reasonable to leave it on GMT all year really.
However in that case it would be an hour out more often than correct..

What's a camera

Not everyone lives in the UK.

Not everyone lives in the UK.

But the closer you live to the equator the less point there is in having daylight savings time anyway (or as it should probably be called 'wasted clock adjustment time').

Should stick to GMT all year round (or CET if you live there - even though in Spain your natural geographical timezone is GMT) - it's only a number on the face of a clock - I don't know why anyone gets anxious about getting up before 5/6/7/8 yet once the clock has been fiddled with they're happy to get up at a "real" 5/6/7/8 even though the clock says 6/7/8/9.

I know, crazy isnt it! My phone does it automatically... :p

Mines set to "auto update"
But failed miserably. :(
I then tried to do it manually, but got the message
"cannot manually update, when set to auto"

These things are just too ****ing clever (or not) for their own good!

So I had to turn off the auto update, and update manually.
What a bloody waste of good sleeping time :( :p

I never change the time on my cameras. I guess that makes me mad, bad, and dangerous to know, and a really serious bad ass to boot? ;)

You mean the world does not end at Dover?

No no, beyond Dover there's France, and while it's understandable that one would think the world to be ending, one must simply persevere south, south east, or east to reach civilisation again.

Ah yes. I remember it now. If my memory is correct the best thing about it was it had roads to Holland and Germany. Cant think of anything else good about it.

Cheese

Onions

roads to spain...

...erm...

Should be ashamed coming from the land of clocks.:nono:

Hi

Thanks for the reminder

I would remember but I leave all the camera times set to GMT along with the car's clock. saves me loads of time every year and avoids confusion when the government tells us to change the time. I only bother changing clocks and watches at home so I don't miss anything important. Can't find the adjustment buttons on the cat to reset her body-clock, she still demands food whenever she feels like it!

Ooooops just looked at the D40 and found it to be 3 hours out!

.....as I have absolutely no idea how to change it, I may not bother!
