Sorry but unless you've bought direct from someone with the chickens I doubt you'd ever know if you have or haven't. Even now the majority of eggs in this country are produced by caged birds, the only difference since 2011 is that the cages got larger, 'enriched' cages, which were about 30% larger than before. But this isn't EU consistant. Many ither countries like France, Span, Poland still use the old cages, which means cheaper eggs, and we all know how supermarkets love a low price and mis-labelling when profit is involved.
So - two threads running in OOF. One on a Tesco Pizza, one on Halal Meat, both supermarket issues. So, as Alexander would say - simples.
We're never going to get away from supermarkets for some boxed items, washing powders, certain cereals etc, but for the majority of fresh, quality produce there are other providers. Support your local shops, vote with your feet, its the only way these profit monsters will understand.
