Do people today lack a sense of humour?

lack of sense of humour? ............... certainly more and more people, probably within a certain age group, seem to be far more "angry" these days ... about the past, (which they have not experienced), about the present, (because they feel hard "done to"), and about the future, (which has yet to happen)

There has been a series of programmes on over Xmas ( can't remember which channel) about 60's, 70's etc. and people showing their shock and horror at some of the TV and film content as well as song lyrics. Their shock and horror was almost as amusing as the content.(y)

what they fail to realise is what the true purpose of programmes like Til death do us part, Dad's Army, The Concert Party, etc., was .................. they were extremely "funny" BUT such programmes did more to enhance and develop the multicultural society in the UK than any of these PC do-gooders will ever do.

and I would even mention Bernard Manning ....... his (televised) obnoixios stand up presentations were never acceptable and most people knew that they were not

I saw one of those ( well part of anyway) not so long ago, and yes the mock outrage ( mostly from celebs) was hilarious.
Lets face it, if they just sat there and said, that's not very nice, it wouldn't make "good viewing" would it?
Even Bill Oddie was jumping on that particular band wagon ;)

Bringing this thread back on topic, it appears each episode of The Grand Tour contains a joke with reference to where the tent/studio is sighted. This particular episode was in Finland and Hammonds joke was majing reference to a Finnish ice cream advert.
