Lovely candid shot, great natural lighting and a good composition.

Well done indeed!

Thanks very much Gary :)

I love this one, Darren. Very candid and the lighting is just right. Hope the wedding and christening went well.

Jenny

Thank you Jenny. Everything went smoothly apart from the kids climbing on the graves. playing with the candles and generally being kids :bang:

Candid is absolutely brilliant! Well spotted, and well taken. Does she know yet? :D

Thanks. She hasn't seen it yet, I'll have to move it onto my phone.

I can imagine your frustration - all those opportunities for candid shots, but you're busy with your official duties.

Still the one you did get is an absolute cracker. Well done - and best wishes to the happy couple. :)

Jean

Thanks Jean. Having seen the wedding tog's efforts I'm happy he did them and not as unhappy that I missed the opportunity. Was fun though and wouldn't have changed it just for a few chances to snap away.

Stonking image for candid as others have said it's a real beaut.

Cheers Rob.

^^
What he said - super candid shot.

Thanks Paul.

Must say I'm not enjoying being out of sync with my weeks now. I daren't try to look at other's week 11's for fear I'll come across week 12 shots. And as yet I have no idea what to do for produce (short of a picture of some carrots!) let alone quad. So apologies to everyone for not working my way through them yet, I'll do my best to catch up with my comments once I catch up with my own 52 :)

Fantastic shot!
I don't often look at the wedding shots on here, but this is every bit as good as the ones that I've come across

It's a shame that you couldn't get more shots, but the important thing is that you contributed to your sister's day (and got at least one good'un for your 52 ;) )

That's a lovely shot Darren, well taken and very Candid... looks like a valuable lesson too

Thanks very much Sarah. It was a good day despite :)

Lovely wedding shot, nicely done :)

Cheers Nick.

Thanks John. Not a chance in hell I'd ever want to put myself in the position to ruin anyone's wedding :D

Sorry but I'm desperate to catch up and this will have to do for now.

I've just given up smoking (well 2 days in). So had to make use of my last cigarette today rather than leaving it in the pack to ponder over. Produce = the crap it produces. Well it was either this or the asparagus...

Onto Quad!

Candid - that's a damn fine image, if you ask me. Great clarity and dof.
The only thing I'm not so keen on is the repeated reflection on the left of the image. Minor point though, given how much I like the image.

Produce - Very strong image. The dark tone is perfect for the subject matter.

On a personal note, good luck and stick with it.
I gave up eleven years ago. I found it freakin' hard for many months but it does get easier as time passes. I have to say that it didn't make me feel particularly more healthy but heck, my wallet ws much, much fatter!

Produce - WOW !

This speaks volumes, very dark, very strong.

(My personal note is I wish could give up, failed 5 times now) Good luck mate.

A very powerful image, with a clear message. It works very well

Congrats on giving up and a powerful produce image!

Phil

Super image for produce Darren.

As the others have said very dark, strong message.

Thanks Rob. The repeat reflection is due to the bevelling on the mirror and it confuses the hell out of me too.

I gave up 10 years ago for 4 years before starting again, then gave up for another year in the middle. Unfortunately we're always smokers, just have to make sure we don't ever pick another one up.

Produce - WOW !

Cheers Rob, I'm glad it came across in the image.

You can give up if you want to. You just have to be in the right frame of mind to want to. I needed a bit of a kick this time round and even Allen Carr wasn't helping (I'm not a big reader), so I bought Paul McKenna's book and CD. Listened to the CD once and that's been it so far. I tried hypnosis first time round, 10 years ago and it worked for me then too. Whilst it's not a click of the fingers and the craving is gone, it does help relax the mind and gives you a boost of self belief.

I think that's a lot better than "it'll have to do so that I can catch up!"

Definitely packs some punch. Very, very powerful image and the PP is spot on. It really works well

Thanks Sarah. I honestly think it could do with a lot of improvement, but I'm not going to argue as I'm probably looking too closely at it :)

A very powerful image, with a clear message. It works very well

Thanks John. Certainly wasn't expecting anyone to like it.

Congrats on giving up and a powerful produce image!

Phil

Thanks Phil. It gets easier to give up after this many attempts :)

Super image for produce Darren.

As the others have said very dark, strong message.

Cheers Paul.

Thanks to everyone for looking. I'm falling further behind again and just haven't had the time to shoot this week. Whilst I have an idea for quad which I plan to take tomorrow, I have absolutely no ideas for shoot. But I must get round to it this weekend so I can get back to looking at everyone else's threads. Sorry that I'm slacking :bang:

Getting very frustrated and annoyed with myself this morning, so posting this up just to get it out of the way. DoF is too narrow, post processing is awful and when I tried a reshoot I just kept getting movement. Frustrated, but could be the nicotine cravings.

So on to shoot. Oh dear...

and this is "Quad Core Apple Mac"

Yep used a tripod, it was the apple sinking into the jacket. Whilst I could have flattened it out a bit to stiffen it I preferred it to be a little more fluffed. Ah well.

What the hell can I shoot for shoot? I fear a mirrored self portrait coming up :D

Bwaaahahahaha, that really made me chuckle. Ok so the DOF is a tad tight but so what, it's clever, rilly clever. 10 out of 10, a tick, a star and a smiley face.

 very clever... fits the theme too...

I agree with all the "clever" comments.
The title really made me laugh :D Absolutely inspired!!!!

The layout of the component parts works well and I love the fluorescent green against the black background.
It is a shame about the DoF as you said. If you could have got that spot on and a little more definition in the apple cores it would be brilliant.

Big catchup for me this week... It's a problem when you get behind. Not only do you have to get your own images up, you have to go round and comment on others for more than one week... Soooo...

Candid: Wonderful shot. A nice compliment to the bride and an unusual angle. Nice lighting and expression. Very good.

Produce is a wowser. Lovely gritty capture. High contrast and nice depth of field all work well. Makes me want to give up!

Quad is also very very well thought out. Certainly made me chuckle..! Maybe a different coloured Mac might have worked better to make those cores stand out. Nonetheless, its 10/10 for creativity.

Ian.

Thanks to everyone for not slating quad too badly. It's a poor effort and I still seem to have lost my way.

This is shoot (week 14) I think. Well shoots, at least that's what I'm saying it is.

Now what the hell was last week's topic? /runs off to look

Thanks Chris. I actually went out to try and find some little shoots of life but it seems spring has already gone and everything is in full bloom. I liked the deep green here and had to use it even if it needed a little nudge on subject.

Not a lot of thought went into this, but it didn't need to. Single to me is missing my family and no longer being a part of that unit (except as a weekend father). I can still feel the ring on my finger even though it hasn't been there for eight years. There's nothing else I wanted to shoot with this subject.

I think I've caught up now  Promise I will get looking through everyone's efforts for the last month from tomorrow.

An emotional shot and a very good shot. Very well lit and well composed.
I love a photo that tells a story and this really does

Some serious impact in this fella. It's 'perfect' I kind of knew what was coming without reading your story. Nicley composed, well lit ........ it's spot on bloke and I empathise with you too.

Amazingly poignant shot Darren - I'm a bit speechless.
Simple, effective and it really has some power. Says everything it needs to and more.
Although the composition and lighting are spot on, for me this shot is about so much more than the subject matter.

I was also stunned by your shoot shot, but this has been a bit overwhelmed by the pure emotion in single.
Not quite sure that shoot is exactly on theme, but I really do like it. The contrast in the grass and the angle work brilliantly.

Sorry I've missed your thread for the past few weeks. The shoot picture is great, really nice colour, contrast, composition and a nice bit of vignetting make it a great shot.

This weeks shot is just brilliant. It may not be the worlds best sunset or the shot of the last ever wild bird but it is so personal and emotional that it means just as much. More importantly it means just as much to you, photos should reflect moments in time and this does that.

My favourite picture of this week and right up there with the best of the 52...

Absolutely superb shot for this week Darren. Very powerful and emotional image.

You Quad shot made me laugh and I like the Shoot shot. Simplistic but well shot - could be a stock photo.

Wow Darren you certainly know how to put some impact into your shots, this latest 'single' and 'produce' are both powerful and emotive which to me is a huge part of what photography should be.....superb! .....and 'Quad' did make me chuckle....and groan ;)

Shoot, it works, the processing is good too
Single, a great take on the theme, and shot well, plenty if impact too.

Thanks Darren.

Darren, that is so poignant. What a powerful shot. I can feel the sadness coming out of the photo. Well done.:clap::clap:

I also like shoot - fits the theme perfectly.

Glad you have now caught up.

Thanks Jenny. I'm glad I've caught up too. I've missed looking through all the threads here.

Thanks Rob. Very kind of you to say it's perfect, even if I think you're mistaken :)

Thanks Gary. Don't be sorry, I've been busy trying to catch up and missing everyone else's. I'm very glad you like, although favourite of the week? Mine must be the first you've seen :)

Absolutely superb shot for this week Darren. Very powerful and emotional image.

You Quad shot made me laugh and I like the Shoot shot. Simplistic but well shot - could be a stock photo.

Thanks Paul. Bloody stock is a pain in the arse. Alamy are being picky little so and so's :bang: I might take your advice.

Thank you Sonia. I've been a little disappointed in myself for rushing a few recently just to get something up but I'm glad these last two have raised my bar a little. I'm trying to forget quad :suspect:

Shoot, it works, the processing is good too
Single, a great take on the theme, and shot well, plenty if impact too.

Thanks John. I never thought I'd catch up, now to enjoy what everyone else has been doing.

I've not even attempted submitting anything to the stock sites - don't think I'm any where near good enough yet. Be nice to get something on there sometime though.
