hi everyone
I was just wondering how people frame their own prints?
I've made a couple of different attempts, with varying success. The most successful method I've had involves the following, would appreciate any pointers, advice, do/don'ts
- 20x16" frame with detachable (usually MDF-type) backing board (like this)
- A3 mount
- mount spray (like this)
- I position and affix the print to the backing board with spray
- lay the mount over the print
- place both of these into the frame
- seal around the back of the frame with mounting tape
I'm not sure whether affixing the print to the frame's backing board is the best thing to do? Or whether I should get another piece of backing board as well as the one which comes with the frame.
If there are elements of this process which ring alarm bells or could be improved, info would be most appreciated!
