Its the hallmark from a Gold 18 carat ring (tested) which is very personal to me. I believe it is a European Continental mark but I cannot find out anything about it. It used to belong to my Grandfather so at a guess it is around the middle to late 1800's or even early 1900's and the only connection I have to my Grandfather.
The markings are SM - AT2 - B each set in a rectangle and the only markings on the ring. They are so small that by photographing with macro lens then editing up the size can the inprint marks be read.
If anyone can shed any light on these marks I will be extremely grateful, I have almost exhausted every place I can think of in the way of identifying them.
I have found out that commissioned pieces of gold as a one off, quite often doesn't have any other identifying marks. The first 2 letters I think are the makers mark but I have got no further as yet.

. The only thing that I could find about the marks was what the B was, and it looks like the date letter for 1937
