denoise then sharpen or sharpen then denoise?

I always sharpen as the LAST thing I do. So de-noise first, for me.

Not saying I'm right or owt, but I always de-noise then sharpen......

I always use separate layers, i only sharpen the foreground and bits i want sharp, and i only denoise the sky etc. i never sharpen the whole image, seems silly to sharpen the sky adding more noise and then trying to remove it.

De-noise first for me, seems illogical to sharpen the noise, its only going to make the noise reduction more difficult.

Makes a lot of sense, thanks! Only reason i asked was that denoising seems to remove some of the (very) fine detail so wondered if it was best to keep this and sharpen it up and denoise the image after to reduce fine detail loss but yes it seems illogical to sharpen the noise!

If you use Noiseware it sharpens and removes the noise at the same time. As a result the effect is integrated and a lot more effective.
