I seem to remember when I first got noise ninja that it recommended that noise reduction was done before any other processing. Also, noise reduction softens an image so your sharpening would be undone if you did it first.
I always use separate layers, i only sharpen the foreground and bits i want sharp, and i only denoise the sky etc. i never sharpen the whole image, seems silly to sharpen the sky adding more noise and then trying to remove it.
Makes a lot of sense, thanks! Only reason i asked was that denoising seems to remove some of the (very) fine detail so wondered if it was best to keep this and sharpen it up and denoise the image after to reduce fine detail loss but yes it seems illogical to sharpen the noise!
