Good work Peter, I find these smoke pictures very interesting, they have an organic feel about them. That not knowing what you are going to get is very appealing. Your pp has worked well, I like the inversion and colour input, it makes for a vibrant photograph.
#1 I like too but as others have said, when posted compared against #2 it can't compete IMHO. That said, I do like #1, the letterbox crop suits the subject and it doesn't look too clinical, it has that used and well played look about the keys. This would certainly work better on its own. Iain

Peter, a couple of really good images that fit the theme perfectly... I really like the piano keys, but having spent some time looking, that smoke art is definitely growing on me, and I think I prefer it.

wow....am seriously green eyed over your Smoke symmetry image...lovely lovely...I tried smoke shots once & failed miserably so to even contemplate crit'ing your shot would be way wrong....I love it

The piano shot is also on theme just not quite as exciting as the smoke art

I'm now convinced that the weekly theme is connected to the weather. Just as we get something that would match the skies we've had recently then the Sun comes out. I wonder whether a theme of rain could be organised for my summer holiday.

Anyway my entry this week is a Moody Cow. No reference to Sarah :nono: but of a rather inquisitive bovine (all the others were scared off as I approached).

Hi Peter, thought I'd better reply to you even if you did ask me to be a "moody cow!" you got a far better model there!

Composition is bang on as is the focus, exposure etc, the moody sky just finishes it of!! I must say it was quite interesting watching the bulls antics while you were taking the cow shots!!

Joy, one of the pubs (cough) we went in on the TP meet was called the Jolly Roger and they had a panel of photographs using the same effect. In order of my preference it's Y, J the O. Being really picky and because I have to fond something for you to improve....I'd like to see the Y rotated to the right slightly.

Both commenting on the Y and can see what you mean. I had already rotated it but resisted making it look too unnatural with a totally straightened version though.

It was the O that started the thinking off so that was quick to find. I did get in trouble for pick a suitable flower from the garden and then using a flower already inside a pot.:nono:
The J was harder to find and the credit goes to Sarah for spotting it. I had three attempts at Y. I lost my first choice on the way back from taking the dogs a walk :bang:. The second choice really didn't work as a Y but so quickly moved on to the one you see.
