weekly De88ie's 52 2016 - Week 49 50 51

Thank you, struggled this week as i have been busier than usual, as my son got married on Thursday. Been a busy month.:)

Hi Debbie. Well done with the mini catch up during such a busy time for you. Hope all went well. Hidden is well composed and I do like that vibrant colour. Lonely is nicely composed and b&w is an excellent choice. The verticals need straightening but fits the theme perfectly.

Agree with Carl on lonely, I'm a sucker for b&w and I like the graininess of this, but despite the obvious subject I'm not sure where my eye is drawn, I can't quite see were the focus is, if that makes sense?

Thank you Carl, i put the picture into edit to straighten it but it showed that it was straight. Didn't understand why until i looked at the feet. They are straight. Will try to edit again. Many thanks.
P.S The wedding went very well.

Looks slightly askew now i have straightened it, or is it my eyes.

Third time lucky. Carl this looks better, i bow to your expertise. Thank you.

Yes, that's spot on Debbie - the pic that is ... definitely not the comment haha

Think I prefer your second edit with the bush cropped out. The person against the bust stop is a very good idea for the theme and I think the second concentrates on the subject more.

Thank you Chris, i couldn't decide as the bush gave more distance but also added extra interest/distraction. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Debbie :)

Hidden now that pod is doing its best to hide, A very green image indeed... for Lone having followed the edits you have done the final image is spot on, surprising what a little straighten does, well done for keeping up at such a busy time, a family wedding is very time consuming I would say :)

Hi Debbie, love the hidden pea.

Lone, the last crop suits it really well. I like you relish the comments and suggestions we get !

Great image for Hidden Debbie fits the theme peafectly.....

Love the B&W conversion on Lonely really adds to the feel of the image

Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
Now i must try and capture a new image for this weeks theme. Trouble is I've got some nice archive ones, but thats not getting myself out and about.

Great find for lonely. I like the graininess which adds to the theme.

That's lovely Debbie - how tame are they eh! Like the composition of the first - nice and sharp too.

Nice and Sharp Debbie (y)

Is it me or are they a tad on the cool (blue) side?

Hope you don't mind (say if you do and I'll nuke it)

Thanks Carl, they are very tame. Daughter loves them and we will be paying a return visit in a couple of weeks, peanuts help.
Cobra, now you mention it you are right. Not noticed it before. I think i turned the warm setting off so that might have something to do with it. I will compare these photos with my next set of squirrel photos. I will try with warm on and off. Appreciate the comments, thank you.

No worries Debbie :)
I'm not familiar with that camera, do you have a cloudy setting in the White balance section?
If so, give that a try, under all conditions, especially when shooting animals.

Awww cute!
I love feeding the squibbles.
Good subject for the theme. :-)

The camera is a micro four thirds.. Just upgraded to an olympus OM-D EM-10 so will check the settings.
I have heard that they can cause a lot of damage, heard them causing damage in houses but didn't realise they damaged parks.
I have never been lucky enough to see a red squirrel.
I agree i do think they are cute.
Thank you for all the comments.

They are incredibly destructive, both inside and out side.
I have never been lucky enough to see a red squirrel.
Because they have largely been displaced by the larger more aggressive greys and of course there is squirrel pox to contend with, the greys are carriers, but remain unaffected by it.
But its deadly to reds.

Hi De88ie, I really like your Lonely boy at the bus stop, uncropped version, a genuine pose isn't it?

Late replying, sorry. The Lonely is a genuine pose. The squirrels are at Peasholm Park, Scarborough. Just take a bag of bird peanuts and your grandsons will be happily entertained by squirrels galore.

Week 33 Game
Version 2 by Deborah Robinson, on Flickr
Luckiest photo ever. Was walking through the Great Hall doorway at Harry Potter World, looked upwards, couldn't stop as there were dozens of people walking through at the same time. Just tilted camera upwards and pressed shutter.

Original here.

Debbie...I love the Ford Anglia, and well on theme for static, but the snitch is fantastic!
You've removed the wires so well :-)

I'm green with envy that you've been to Harry Potter World.
Was it awesome?

Thank you Ruth, yes it was awesome. Worth twice the price, even my husband who hasn't read the books or seen the films said it was great. So much to see, hopefully going again near Christmas. I used affinity photo to remove the wires. It's available for mac. Still learning, but so far it is great.
